The Rock: I will make films for the arts, not the charts

Featured Replies

Dwayne Johnson says he's now choosing to make films for himself, seeking projects driven by the arts and not the charts. Reflecting on his career, the "Black Adam" thespian revealed, "A few years ago I started to ask myself, 'Am I living my dream or am I living other people's dreams?'" This marks a powerful shift for the "Jumangi" actor known for his blockbuster roles, signaling a move away from box-office formulas toward more personal storytelling. Johnson's recent comments suggest he's ready to follow his own path and creative passions, rather than the expectations of Hollywood studios.

Please, he was doing them for the money, "following other people's dreams" :toofunny3:

For how cliche it was, I still liked Black Adam. The thing with him, though, is that what you see is what you get. He has very little range as an actor. It probably would do him well to take on deeper roles. I think all people will ever see, though, is "The Rock."

Is his shampoo and the residuals from the WWE not paying out as much?

He is a box office draw for romcoms and action -that's it.

He should just continue to invest well so he can retire comfortably because this route is DOA.

He is so full of it (and untalented).

He has a "no-lose" clause in his contracts.

Stating: "He can never lose on screen."

Was that for the audience or for the art?

Who "forced" that upon him?

He's even a bad actor at

selling himself as "an artist" now.

...Vin

How Miley of him

His decisions to play the same character in every movie and phone it in says other wise tho

I haven't seen one film this mf made where his character's personality wasn't The Rock. But I guess he can try his best… even with less range than Bruce Willis.

Willis has 2 acting Emmys, which is difficult to get

Me when I was sure I was gonna become an iconic DC figure and no one gave a ****

All the haters gonna eat dirt.

Gridiron Gang was a great performance and he's taken more interesting roles in the past like Southland Tales.

Can't wait to see what he stars in now.
