I would like to see artists make statements like this while topping the charts. Everyone acts like they're above charts and numbers once they start flopping. It feels disingenuous. 
 

However I do agree that fans have gotten way to obsessed with charts.

 

 

Douche enjoyers clapping as if she isn't only saying this to appear elitist and humble after the disaster that was her album sells lol. Artists who flop always pull this exact card.

One of the MPG did it, after her massive debut, quoting:

You'd think I'd be happy, right?" she says, the accompanying frown suggesting otherwise. "But I was playing a part dictated by my then manager and my record company. I hated who I was back then, and I knew if I was going to continue in this business, I had to do things for myself next time. Yet she is dragged to death in this forum because she is a "disgusting flop".
