Beyoncé, Pink and Shakira all left her in the dust a long time ago. And then if we're counting the likes of Rihanna and Gaga who came a little later but could still be considered 2000s artists, they're also bigger. Britney definitely belongs in the top 10 somewhere though.

Artist of the decade isn't just pure sales, it's also singles etc.

 

By SPS units Beyoncé is the 2nd biggest female artist of the 2000s WW. In the US she was given the title over Britney because she was a bigger hitmaker with more Billboard points.

It's not fair to say Beyoncé wasnt as powerful WW. Yes she wasn't as big in some regions like Mexico or Hungary, but Beyoncé was huge in Brazil, Canada, UK & several European countries, Australia, South Korea, South Africa etc. 

 

She even had very respectable Japan stats until 4. Even Run The World  was a top 10 hit (overall chart, not just international) and ended up #41 year end which is great on a chart dominated by Japanese and Kpop artists.

 

She's had very respectable success in almost all of the top 10 major markets. 

 

Xtina doesn't belong on any runner up lists. She wasn't big in 2000s.

Youre right Beyonce comes after Britney success wise.
She was huge in america- europe??? and artists from places like sweden like my fave zara larsson grew up with her.
That says a lot about her power in europe in the 2000s

Sorry if my post was like downplayng Bee power-talent.
I just feel like Britney was such a powerful star and even if bee-avril-shak-xtina were big.........the headlines were all focused on britney mostly.
Britney was not only a big musician-singer. She was the largest celebrity
Thats how i remember the 2000s.
