I agree there were some great popstars at that time and me, always rambling about Britney's unique, earth-shattering 00s impact doesn't negate fact the Avril, Christina, Alicia, Ashanti or Pink of the world have left their marks, in their own ways. Those were my favorites but feel free to add more. 

 

I mostly hype Britney up because people, and when I say people, I also mention a few old school members around here, have always been AWFUL to her. Really. SYG alone was absolutely demonic and ATRL will always be tainted, in my eyes, with what was written about her there, void of any human decency. To a point no other female singers can really compare. The irony being not only that she opened the doors for the pop singers that came after, but is also partly responsible for the forum in which I'm writing this message. 

Unless you randomly hate her for no reasons, the answer is obviously yes lol

In the long run Beyoncè and P!NK won (considering only her peers) + in late 2000s other female artists did much better than her (Rihanna, Katy, Gaga)

This is a dated concept. Her two biggest hits as of today are Toxic and GM, which distinguishably differs from her y2k image

I'm a fan of Shakira more than Britney, and Shakira was huge with some of the biggest hits of the 2000s decade worldwide.
She was inspired by an American 90s actress for her blonde wavy hair, but stylistically and clothing-wise, she also had a lot of Britney's influence.
Shakira was marketed as a sort of wild, hot, Latino bombshell–Britney–rockstar hybrid i thjink
 

Even Shakira loves Britney and acknowledges her power. Without Britney, I think Shakira's path to crossover success would have been very different. Less sexy and more conservative and softer.  Britney opened the doors for a different type of pop star—innocent but sexy and flirty and relatable and very pop—after all those slow, vocal-driven singers from the 90s.
 

Beyoncé was also huge, but culturally, the impact of Shakira and Beyoncé was not as massive worldwide as Britney's. I was younger at the time, and I remember it. Beyoncé was huge in the U.S., but worldwide, she wasn't as powerful. Britney everything surrounding her was a circus. Britney is the epitome of the 2000s decade
