The reality is that Christina's music didn't stand the test of time. It doesn't have reply value sans a handful of singles, and she's a great example of a good voice but lacks cohesiveness. Every era is too different from the last one, so each era targeted a different type of people, resulting in a lack of recurrent interest, and clearly, her biggest mistake was not nurturing a dedicated fanbase that would consume her music regularly, but probably, her biggest mistake was not being an enjoyable live act for people to at least buy ticket concerts to enjoy a good show. She literally peaked with Stripped/B2B

Y'all love to insert Britney and forget about all the documentaries, the Free Britney movement, and the scandals that generated public sympathy and increased her visibility. You can't get a better promotion than that.

Stripped lowkey seemed forgotten way before the 2020s. 

 

It took the album 17 yrs to go from 4x to 5x Platinum (last certified 2022). Her debut album needed 24 yrs to go up 1m (certified 2024).

 

Honestly the forgotteness probably happened way sooner than any of us originally thought. 

There is no way Beautiful is only doing 84k daily... That's literally a song everybody knows

When did she divorce her husband? Exactly, more than 10 years ago Are you that dense? How is something that happened more than 10 years ago and wasn't even that important to begin with supposed to keep her name in the public eye? Britney was dragged through every major award show and heavily promoted before the Free Britney movement occurred, which brought her even more exposure. Xtina hasn't done anything of note since The Voice. Given the time and energy she invests in her career, she's doing fine.

No. They are actually so remembered that people don't need to listen to them. They just play the songs in their minds.

It's been nearly half a decade since the Free Britney movement and all the documentaries  Do you really think people are streaming Gimme More because of a documentary they saw in February 2021?  

 

Y'all love to claim Xtina is "booked and busy" and in demand, so why isn't that translating into streams? Surely Xtina booking magazine covers, performing at multiple events, clinging to Sabrina Carpenter, having a Las Vegas residency, and becoming the face of Ozempic would spark interest? At least more so than someone who hasn't made a public appearance in 6 years? Or are you suggesting Britney twirling on Instagram beats all of that?

Has Xtina done nothing of note or is nothing working? 

 

Xtina had a string of successful features in the early 2010s which Fighters claimed was her "impact" for years, but it never stopped her sharp downward trajectory.

 

For Liberation and Aguilera she tried collabing with successful popgirls at the time (Demi during her peak and Becky G who's big in Latin America). Every song bombed. 

 

Last yr she also had the Spotify special with Sabrina which did nothing for her streams.

I'm pointing out that Christina has had her fair share of the 'things' you said she never had. Also, suddenly, Britney's public life drama becomes the reason behind her music success? You guys can't keep up, even with the lame ass excuses to justify Christina's downfall

And people used to say that she was flopping because she was fat and it didn't fit the "successful pop star" mold. But now even after ozempic she is still flopping. When you don't have "it you just don't have "it".. she even collabed with Sabrina Carpenter and it did nothing for her 

Yes

She did have some great songs. But her singing style and songs just age badly. Her image also doesn't help. She did a ton of music styles but never become a master of one, so when people think about pop, people listen to Britney, rock for avril and pink, RNB for Alicia and Beyoncé. It was a fresh move at the time but age badly.

Her team is terrible & she is lazy/doesn't care about her career anymore.

 

I'd be more concerned if she was hustlin', trying to be relevant like some other pop stars.
