Senorita. It did something to their careers though, it killed both.

I don't know if "Apt." really did much for Rosé's SOLO career..

Also...much as I like her... MLJ x FTM x SS didn't translate into solo success for Xtina..

Jessie J is huge in China and Nicki is also decently successful. So how is this a good example?

Define how "huge in China" she is, because afaik she's more of a TV celebrity than a popstar in there, which certainly wasn't the kind of success she had in mind after Bang Bang hit big.

Rain on Me didn't help the rest of chromatically chart

But it still charted for almost a year and sold 4M+ WW. Thank you for admitting that wasn't because of Rain on Me.

Many of the examples above I disagree with, because if the collab was successful, and the artist is otherwise a complete flop (ala Kim Petras), then the collab (like Unholy) HAD to do something for her career. It probably defined that artist's career. Any successful song, will do SOMETHING for someone's career, but the more flop an artist is, the MORE it did!

I think better examples are huge collabs for artists who have other hits, like "Im Good" for Bebe Rexha, which was HUGE, but really led to nothing and I don't even think defines her discography or is a standout hit for her.

Havana, Señorita and Bam Bam.

It's crazy how Camila achieved succesful collabs but she still a flop these days, her career looks terrible.

It's even worse when you think she managed to pull a flop in PlayBoi Carti's career with I LUV IT meanwhile he was in his peak during 2024.

Leighton's pop career was handled so poorly by Republic after this smashed. Body Control (now on Spotify :fish:) should've been released as a single.
