Studies have shown that Halloween business was globally becoming larger and larger...

 

Yet, even with some attempts from some artists, that holiday failed to generate a tradition or even a trend around it.

 

Why?

It's not as big as Christmas but there definitely is Halloween music, for example Thriller recharts during the season

Monster Mash,Thriller ,Ghostbusters and a few others songs do well every Halloween. a new song getting a radio push this year might have a chance to be a hit as well.

 

 

It's only one day. Christmas basically takes over an entire month (and it gets earlier every year)

Excuse me for being ignorant because I'm not an American or a Westerner. Ok.

I think that it is because America and some European countries are very heavy Christian religious. (!?) That's why Halloween songs are underrated and not as big as Christmas.

Besides, they're labelled as satanic by many families

Well there are Halloween decorations (that are raising as hell) which mean people definitely create a mood, Halloween events, candies... Not to mention TikTok/Instagram lifestyle account that starts promoting Halloween in June.... 

Half of Gaga's discography could qualify as Halloween music. Also, Thriller is the quintessential Halloween staple. Just because they're not as big as Christmas or specifically tailored for it, doesn't mean Halloween songs don't exist.

Which ones? I've never seen anyone being hyped for Halloween in June.

i think i poorly stated my point ahhaha....

 

I agree there are TONS of "Halloween songs", enough to make dozens of playlists....

 

My point was more like :

 

1) Even if many songs have a "Halloween vibe", how many of them were actually released around Halloween?!?

 

("Thriller" was released in November 1983, "Disturbia" was a "song of summer 2008"....) 

 

2) Except Kim Petras, i saw no singer releasing songs "to benefit from Halloween". No other singer has released a Halloween song with a similar dynamic as Christmas ones.
