If Taylor Swift had a fall from grace or went on an extended music break à la Adele or Rihanna, which pop singers do you think would benefit most from Taylor Swift vacating her place in pop culture? Who'd fill the gap that would be left? Who would attract the most Swift fans? Who would take over the title of number one female artist?

Simply put, which pop girls would benefit the most from Taylor Swift's absence from the music scene?

Maybe Billie could finally snag a #1 next era

Taylor kinda became the more GP friendly Lana after her Folklore era, I think a lot of Taylor fans already enjoy / would appreciate Lana's songwriting, sound, and storytelling / lore.

Billie.

Sabrina Carpenter.  Taylor's already given her the biggest endorsement, so the swifties would swoop to her in Taylor's absence.

To be honest, no one would see an increase in their numbers. They'd all be performing the same but there would just not have the Taylor comparison going on.

well she was absent for at least the first half of this year and nobody benefitted from that

@IBeMe I don't wanna tag you in here but there are people praising that girl and I want you to whack them for me

:clack:

Obviously all the white girls that were endorsed and hugely inspired by her and already work with her go to producers.

None of them, because it would be the men who benefit the most from Taylor's absence. Case in point: who have the longest #1 streak on Album/Single/Streaming stats this year before Taylor comes back?

No women would be benefited from taylor's absence. Bad bunny would surpass her and drake in two years or less in total streams, so he would start dominating the anglo market just like he dominates the hispanic market.

This is the right take. Stans always act like Taylor being successful is somehow to blame for their faves not doing as well, but nothing's stopping them from streaming others alongside her. Yeah, Swifties might have more time for other artists if they streamed Taylor less (or never), but we're not some hive mind that would instantly flock to the same artist. Streams would just get spread across tons of different artists, so no single one would really stand out.

Doubt anyone can have the insane jump she had in the last 5 years. Even on hiatus. I think Billie will continue to do well and have another massive era regardless tho

i guess gracie might be the answer? but as others have said, im not really sure if there would be an increase in popularity for these artists. they've already cultivated fanbases and have their own style to them, even if there are understandable comparisons with taylor. it's not like her absence would just lead that fanbase to go somewhere else, because in a lot of cases, taylor fans are already engaged in some of these other bases.

i definitely don't see someone like billie, or even sabrina benefitting any more than their current growth entails. billie has a completely different sound and sabrina plays things more risque than taylor in most cases.

I feel like it would help Olivia, if she actually released frequently going forward, in locking down the most lucrative demographic, preteen through college aged girls. Taylor still dominates them, which is the critical key to her staying power. Guts having a bit more of a muted commercial reception than Sour was because it was in the shadow of Erasmania.

If anyone is to benefit its the male artists. Mind you Taylor does not play with other female artists her level of commercial prowess is completely comparable only to the prime male artists like Bad Bunny, Drake, The Weeknd, Morgan Wallen, if she disappears its all for those men's taking.

this Olivia would benefit the most.

I myself is a big Swifties and think Olivia`s music is the closest to Taylor and listen to Olivia a lot. That`s why even though i`m so excited for OR3, i need her to delay it till next year so she can shine in her own light.

I love miss Eilish deeply, but you maybe shouldn't be throwing rocks in the album variant glass house

I mean, a lot of people just didn't like guts nearly as much as sour b/c of the sound

lol huh?

All these women are already thriving with Taylor being present in the scene and the one who is no longer was at some point.
