What is the strangest thing that has happened to you? (and that you can't explain)

Featured Replies

When I was 6 years old, I saw near my bedroom in the hallway a ghostly shadow that was floating in the evening... I didn't dare go back to my room or tell my mother, so I went to sleep in my mother's room, and the next day the 'ghost' was no longer there, but I never understood what it was.

Also, when I was little it was Christmas and I believed in Santa Claus, and in the night I had gotten up to see if my presents were there and I saw a man in the living room, I thought it was Santa Claus (knowing that at that time my father wasn't at my house, I didn't see him anymore because he was dangerous) and a few years later I remembered it with my adult brain and now I find it frightening.

What about you ?

Sometimes, I dream of things that have not happened yet. The dreams are never specific but during the next few days something related to that topic happens.

Like for example: I dreamt about fire. The next day I got a call from a family member that their was a fire at their work.

Just a couple of days ago, I randomly thought of someone I hadn't seen in years—since roughly 2019. And, as I was walking through my workplace, I came across that very person within moments of thinking about them.

On a September 11, several years ago, which is my late aunt's birthday—my bedroom door opened by itself. I was the only one home and it was shut tight. There was no way that door could have opened on its own without there being some type of force that actually turned the knob and exerted a force. Naturally, I swung it open and there was no one there.

I don't believe in coincidences.

Shortly after my grandfather passed (I was like 3 years old) I remember seeing a man sitting on a couch at my aunt's house. I kept pointing at him but everyone in the room got angry at me because no one else saw him and thought I was pulling a prank or something. It's only a blurry memory now but yeah I've never been able to explain it.

Back when I 21 I was r-word by a guy I previously knew, he was about 10 to 15 years older than me. He put me in handcuffs against my will. After he finished the r-word related things and went outside the room, I was still locked in and another guy came with incense and some dry leaves, and started pouring the leaves on me and started saying things I couldn't understand. By the end, this guy took off the handcuffs and said everything was gonna be fine. I was in shock the whole time. :rip:

As far as I know, the second guy was real, but still, it was such a bad thing that I still wonder what was that.

I remember hearing a voice speak to me so loudly and vividly one night, when I was maybe 11 or 12 and even at 29 I still remember. First and only time I've ever experienced that

When I was nine years old my great aunt, who I adored, developed a lump in her throat. She had been tested multiple times and the doctors said it was benign. Nobody in my family was worried. But as soon as I saw it (it was fairly visible on the side of her neck) I knew she was going to die. I just knew it deep down immediately, I don't know how. I was right, it was cancer and she was dead in less than three months.

When I was a child (btw I do believe children have a bit of a stronger tie to spirits or smth idk) a figure walked from the bathroom, towards my bedroom and as it got close to my bed it just evaporated. It was almost like it was made of fog but with a slight electric current within it. I wasn't scared, it was just… strange.

When I was a teenager, I was on my computer and I started to hear my Mum change the sheets and bedding in her room. She was fluffing the pillows, shaking the cover. Anyway, it's usually at that point she would call for me to help her shake the duvet. She didn't call and the sounds stopped. So, I walked into her bedroom and no one was there, I shouted downstairs and it turned out she wasn't even home.

We have multiple smoke alarms in our house for years that we never had issues with

Two years ago when my mum passed away two of them went off for literally no reason within a few hours of us getting home from her cremation

It was very strange. I don't believe in the supernatural or life after death but stuff like that really makes you wonder sometimes

One day, me, my dad and my sister were walking our dog when suddenly in the distance a group of people yelled at us saying they're looking for a similar dog with the same name and wearing a similar harness. My sister jokingly said our dog was lost in an alternative dimension or something like that lol

I had a dream a couple years ago that a female demon made me eat her bleeding ***** and I woke up in the morning with dry blood on my pillow

I experienced something similar recently, but I had just woken up, I was sitting on the bed and someone, a voice that was not mine, shouted my name in my ear, without hurting me. It was very strange. It didn't scare me, it just surprised me. They say it's a way for your angels to give you a sign to be with you. But it can be anything...

My bed started shaking like it was The Exorcist :skull:

I jumped out the bed and thought "uhh maybe I was dreaming", and got back, and it started shaking again. I told my parents, but they didn't believe me, so idk, but it was weird.

Back in 2017 I went 2 weeks with super hearing. My friends thought I was crazy, But I could literally hear things several blocks away, and it wasn't delusion. I could hear other peoples conversations in other rooms. At work, I could hear employees in the buildings across from me. My family and friends even did test to see if I was just screwing with them, and they like drive down the block and say something then comeback and I tell them exactly what they said. I even went to a busy restaurant, it was around the holidays and pretty busy restaurant. And I can like start to block out certain individuals talking and hear others perfectly clear. It started to get creepy by the 2nd week cuz I was getting headaches of hearing so many sounds and people talking. This is when I started to really worry and went to my doctor to see if I was like crazy. But they said I was pretty normal other than my depression, and that's when the prescribed me some antidepressants. It randomly went away and never came back even when I got off the meds. It might sound like mental illness or something but people around me knew it was true as my friends and family were the ones that were testing how far I could hear for those strange 2 weeks. The furthest I could hear was like maybe a mile. Not even making this up. It was so weird.

You shouldn't have gone to the doctor. You were on the verge of breakthrough!

I had a precognitive dream or maybe it's astral projection but basically I saw myself sleeping, went out of my room and saw my family members doing their thing. Went out of the house and saw the sky was purple and a our neighbor dog almost being ran over by a red car and my said neighbor yelling.

I woke up and then went outside my room and basically everything that I saw in my dream happened- From what my family were doing, to the dog being almost hit by a red car and my neighbor yelling.

I still can't forget it.

When I was about 6, I came home from school and was just sat on the sofa whilst my mum was ironing. Out of nowhere a sweet falls into my lap, it felt like it fell from above. I had never seen this sweet or it's packaging before, it wasn't familiar or something I could get from the shops where I live. I thought it was my mum who somehow threw it in my lap but her hands were obviously occupied with the ironing. I was perplexed for a good 5 minutes before just taking the sweet, eating it and forgetting all about it. :toofunny2:

I always go outside to walk with my mother around my block. I don't carry anything. always hands free.
One day, I randomly decided to bring a plastic bag with me I don't even remember why; I just felt like having it that day while goin outside
A few minutes later, in the parking lot, a lady was carrying some fish, and it was spilling all over the floor and she was all stressed.
i gave her my plastic bag
That was the weirdest thing. Universe really wanted me to help her that day
