UCLA data analysis: 2.8 million in U.S. ages 13 and up ID as trans

I don't even want to know where this thread is going to head since we have our new MAGA contingency.

I skimmed through it, so please let me know if I am incorrect on this, but it doesn’t seem like they did a good job in terms of defining “transgender” as a term. This can be people who identify as nonbinary but do not go through the conventional transition most assume coheres with the trans identity. Broadly, transgender can mean anyone who is not cisgender. So some clarity on this point would be helpful.

All great points.

Given the data funding wars happening with Trump's DEI purge, this is as good as we're going to get for the time being, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Didn't we already know that trans people are about 1% of the population?  So the numbers check out.

Entire political campaigns running for years just to attack a 1% of the population

This is sick ngl

MAGA will sensationalise this by acting like 2.8M is a massive number, when in the grand scheme of things this number only represents about 0.8% of the US population. Which is an insanely small percentage of marginalised people to be so harshly penalised by the current administration.

I honestly wish this wasn't publicized. Not that trans people don't deserve to be included in studies, but this is just going to fuel idiot MAGAs who think 2.8 million is like half the population because they failed grade 2 math.

So ALL this outrage and foaming out the mouth from MAGA turds over 2.8 million people in a country of 350 million.

Get a LIFE you goddamn losers.  Forever obsessed with what others are doing with their genitals.  Freakin weirdos.

not to mention 1% is not even correct, I mean...

There is a higher percentage of the U.S population that is illiterate in any language (8%) but MAGA is concerned about the genitals of less than 1% of the U.S population. Priorities. :clap3:

This is a fantastic visual of why red state vs blue state mentality is dangerous and threats of secession/national divorce would doom millions.  Some of these states like Texas and Florida that we see as hopeless and conservative have a significant population of transgender citizens moreso than some blue states… we need to keep focusing on how to help everyone no matter their surroundings.
