I just hope the movie ends up being good as the previous 6 have been.

6 was the biggest movie since 2 so yeah the franchise doesn't necessarily need her. There was still a lot of story to tell with the Carpenter sisters as well, which was completely wasted by how the studio went about their decisions. The cast proved to be a box office draw. With each film tying into each other one way or another, I don't know how they're gonna pull off a motive for why someone would be coming for Sidney...again without suspending some serious disbelief. With all the fan service casting news I have my doubts. Kevin not writing it is also not a good sign (for me anyway).

 

Also Neve being gone was never an issue for the people that constantly complain about 5 & 6 because 7 has the same writers. So if those movies were so "bad" then how do you think 7 will be

but the seventh film will be directed by Kevin Williamson so he and Neve will have input on the script

Both Kevin and Neve spent two months doing extensive re-writes and I have no doubt in my mind both of their talents together can easily turn **** into gold.

Love Neve and Sydney but how this franchise did Melissa was so nasty it's definitely left a stain that's hard to ignore. This new one will have to be truly great to overcome that but everything I've heard about S7 sounds messy and desperate. Good luck

I actually liked VI, and it could have been interesting to see a direct sequel to that story. I appreciate why she's making a fanfare out of returning since it's undeniable she's the face of the franchise and she was making a stance about being underpayed. But I don't know that I missed her presence in VI per se.
