Scream is and will always be Sidney, if you remove her from the equation then it becomes just another slasher with a ghostface masked killer so why not start a whole different franchise instead if you want that? Sidney is the heart of Scream. Sam was literally Billy's daughter so I'm not sure why some insist they were "finally moving away" when it was literally still her story at the end of the day  there's a reason why the MTV series didn't really click (despite getting 3 seasons surprisingly). What they did to her wouldn't have happened to a man in a similar situation and they did her very dirty. I do wish some other studio would get the rights as well especially for how they treated Melissa but let's not act like most studios aren't beyond trash either, I mean just look at who produced the first 4 movies...

At a certain point we have to make a stand and the sixth sequel to the Scream franchise is a pretty easy one to make.

First of all, I would like the mods to prohibit threads with embedded tweets not translated into English. Not everyone has a Twitter account with automatic translations. 

 

Second, although I am happy Neve is back, I have a sour taste in my mouth following the firing of Melissa Barrera and the abandoning of the new story arc which had many fans as seen by the box office. I can't fully support this new movie.   

What she meant to say was that she was happy that the check finally cleared.

as someone who was sad when sidney wasn't on scream 6 and wanted another movie with her, everything in 7 feels forced, desperate. it will probably be bad and thats what they get for firing melissa

she does have a job; she's one of the leads on Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer

I have a feeling they're going to go too heavy handed with whatever themes and commentary they're centering this one around. scream franchise ends at VI for me regardless

i'm a huge Scream fan, loved all the films, the old and new ones in the same level and the series but I won't watch this. Firing Melissa just because of her being vocal about Palestine is disgusting, I was super happz when Jenna followed her and quit also. I don't really see this new movie to reach the same level of attention or box office success to that the previous 2 had.

It was a success because Jenna Ortega's stans came to watch her no one liked Melissa or Sam in the fifth film everyone hated her and Sam. Also Scream is an established franchise ofc it'd be a success

The original trilogy did just fine without Melissa and Jenna
