  • I'm willing and prepared to get down voted for this but I was ok without her. Sidney is tired. I'm tired of looking at her. Sidney is a MOTHER. Let her retire already like damn

  • Let's not forget that Barrera got fired because she publicly supported the right of Palestine to be free.   Don't support the Zionists behind Scream 7.

  • She's gonna end up like Jamie Lee still having to fend off killers at 60 years old.

With her coming back, she better be back to survive. I'd be so upset if they brought her back to kill her off. I've gotten anxiety with each subsequent film she was featured in. She's my favorite "final girl."

Despite 5 movies being a lot for one final girl, Sidney's appearance in all of them made sense. 1-3 all tie in to each other. Roman causes the events of 1 to happen which causes Mrs Loomis to try and get revenge in 2 for 3 to close the loop. Sidney at the heart of these is obvious. 4 makes sense in that Jill's quest to be the new final girl means you have to kill off the old final girl, but that's more to do with Sidney's victim status than Sidney herself and 5 is the same, it's not a personal motive to go after Sid, it's due to her fame.

So for it now to go back to a personal angle with Sidney rather than just letting her character retire happily into the sunset is just….

Sidney hasnt had a film devoted to her since 1 every film after 1 was devoted to Dewey and Gale

I know everyone's excited about Sydney's come back but I feel like we need a complete reboot maybe set in the same universe but I just feel like how much story can we really get out of Sydney. And that's not shade at all I adore Neve Campbell ado her as Sydney but I feel like they've competed her arch several times

Huh? She was the lead in 1-4, and had an important role in 5. We are TIRED.

David Arquette is the official lead in 1-4, I AM NOT TIRED i watch this franchise for Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox. not the Core Four. the first Scream is the only one in the franchise where it was solely focused on Sidney.

2 split it between Sidney and the rest of the Woodsboro survivors but Dewey and Gale got more screen time in 2 and 3 than Sidney did. 4 was focused on Jill and her friends

Why? This franchise has always been respected for having one whole continuity

That won't happen. Kevin Williamson already said (also recently to The Hollywood Reporter) that he's against Sidney not having a happy-end, after everything she's been through. And Neve herself also said that she won't allow Sidney to die. I think she even has it in her contract. I'm more afraid of Gale dying, but i don't see that happening either. Not after the backlash they got for killing Dewey.

but it's way more believeable for Sidney because at least Scream never pretended to be grounded in reality than the first Halloween

Of course shes happy she came back cause its her one paycheck. I fear this movie will be very predictable and end screams streak of good movies.

Oh! Awesome, thanks for that tidbit of information. Looking it up, I love that she's meant to be a symbol of resilience. And I also love how they're going to be focusing less on gore and more about the suspense. I did think the most recent films did too much in trying to be more gory than how the films initially started out.

But, yeah, it would be sad if Gale dies—I could stomach it, though, in a way I wouldn't be able to with Sidney.

The Radio Silence films were just inferior remakes of 1 & 2 without the quality writing

She's right that things are now back on track and that we have someone who can actually and deliver a good performance front and center again.

There's literally an entire hour after Derek's god awful singing without Sidney in Scream 2

She's insufferable and not needed for the films anymore, the franchise is also not needed, not it it's current iteration
