Taylor is literally a PRO with this. Literally lying about 48h exclusivity every other day of her 40+ variants to create FOMO

oh i was not familiar with her game.

if billboard puts a cap on this to match their streaming equivalent, artists wont be incentivised to do this anymore

Coming for Taylor when others are abusing the system way more… :biblio:

Variants are allowed, so let them sell it. For me a real sale will always be more important than a stream.

Now if Travis is indeed selling half the album in two different Vinyls as I saw someone say then let's see what BB decides.

And at the end of the day, who cares? Swifties are buying, proof that Taylor's TTPD opened with 2.6 Million. It's not Taylor's fault that others are struggling to debut below 100K with 4 times more variants :sabrina:

Maybe building a fandom wasn't bad after all :sabrina:

The nerve to compare Taylor with Travis when she's selling 1.5M copies of 50 dollar vinyl, while all his sales are from people buying T-shirts.

He also tried to go #1 with 5 dollar vinyl but atleast he was actually selling music, then? That's commendable for his standards, I guess.

As I already said, the only popgirl who is selling t-shirt and counting it as a sale in 2025 is Beyonce, why is her name not in the title?

i just asked for her latest stream/sales ratio first week and got no response

I think track lists on whatever you're selling needs to match for it to count. Should cut down on album versions with different exclusive tracks from counting, incomplete vinyl being sold and deluxe albums that are pretty much completely new albums being released to extend charting. The extra music is nice for fans but it's contributing to charts being taken way less seriously since most achievements now have a "but they did this or that to get that"

I also see the argument that in the end if people are willing to buy these things they should still count vs something like radio where consumption is hard to truly track

Just Google "album name" Billboard 200 #1 debut and read the article... damn

Taylor sold actual music, she had 4 variants but who cares she was still selling music at a profit.

The Tortured Poets Department's first-week sales of 1.914 million, physical sales comprise 1.64 million (859,000 vinyl LPs — a modern-era single week record for an album on vinyl, 759,500 CDs and a little over 21,500 cassettes) and digital downloads comprise 274,000.

If you want to look at how fraud looks like, look at the digital downloads number, you can't fake physical sales.

Of 2.6M SPS, Taylor had 300k digital sales. Noone buys digital albums anymore when physical and streaming exists and that tracks.

Meanwhile Travis Fraud,

Days before Rodeo, 300k digital, 360k SPS

Jackboys 2, 190k digital, 250k SPS.

Utopia 111k digital, 496k SPS (79k vinyl and 63k cds were sold as boxsets some of which he took 2 years to ship.)

I love how even on her break, Taylor is still the main topic of discussion here. Your faves are on tour, maybe focus on that instead of criticizing her vinyl variants that are still fewer than her peers who can't sell copies.

This, Taylor may have a lot of CD variants and what not, Bey had those messy "limited press" unfinished variants that are missing like 6 songs etc, but no one is as shameless as Travis selling vinyl for less than a happy meal price, and this time they're not missing a couple tracks, but missing 3/4 of the whole album without warning.

i meant Beyonce since u want to add her to the questionable list of Taylor Swift and Travis Scott

The nerve to come for Taylor whenever Billie tried saying variants are bad yet she's still putting out new variants a year later. Bundles? Gaga sold tour bundles for chromatica and the tour ended up canceled, no? And we can't forget the "limited" and incomplete vinyl that Beyoncé sold for cowboy Carter. :lmao:

Chromatica Ball did happen, and added more dates after the COVID postponement

OP going on about "ratios" when that makes no sense. Why would Billboard randomly make a rule limiting a "ratio" when different artists have different fanbases that consume music differently? A lot of older artists have fanbases that still buy physical copies and don't stream as much. Should their sales be filtered for the sake of "ratios"? :rip:

I remember when Billboard banned bundles people were saying Taylor would be most affected when she was least affected. And y'all can come up with whatever new rule y'all want, that will always be the case

When it becomes obvious that an artist does not seek quality or the output and art is the emphasis of an era, but its more about business - thats where it becomes a **** show.

So yes, both Taylor and Travis are accountable for this.

Put the emphasis on the art and do not allow these insanely long projects for streaming inflation, the autoplay and these idiotic bundles and artificial 269117 variants.

Two of the variants were sold as stand-alone items, while two of the CDs were only available inside two deluxe boxed sets (each with a different branded T-shirt contained inside a branded box).

https://www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/beyonce-renaissance-billboard-200-debut-no-1-1235123568/

Those sellers included Beyoncé's official webstore (where she sold four limited edition deluxe boxed set editions of the album containing a T-shirt and a CD – all of which are sold out).

You won't see any mention about t-shirt sales in Taylor's billboard articles.

The OP didn't have Taylor in the title or OP at the beginning, it's posters who told him to add her.

Which makes zero sense because what Travis is suspected of doing, faking sales, selling half a vinyl is not what she's doing at all.

You also have to be at least true to yourself, even if your fave sold twice as much variants as Tay, they wouldn't sell 1M first week.

If most of our faves did what Travis did/does, they'll outsell him. That's the difference.

The title change :rip:

Also Billboard did change the rules for Billboard 200 this year and Travis still sold almost 200k :michael: when there's a will there's a way etc.

"Taylor does the same!" No, she does not.:bibliahh:

The tactics aren't even in the same ballpark. Taylor releases variants (just like your faves!) but hers move numbers because people actually want them. What Travis Scott is doing is a whole different playbook. Y'all need to get a grip and pull your heads out of your delusion.

These posts back to back :dies:

How can you include Taylor on the title? :rip: stupid as hell.

@Seeyuh TTPD had 4 (FOUR) album variants on release week, 800K units came from streaming alone. How's that manipulative?

Some other artists are selling t-shirts bundles and incomplete albums. Taylor's not the problem.

How many variants of the last album by your fave are out there?

@Taylena do you know the answer?

This also reminded me when Ms Victim played dumb blonde how the charts work, and accused Ed Sheeran as charts obsessed one :hoetenks:
