We all know which movie and ST straights prefer. But which one is more iconic within the gays?

as a gay person, I have never seen Burlesque

wagon wheel watussy is iconic though, i'll give her that

There's absolutely nothing "gayconic" about ASIB, it's the straightest **** ever, they put a drag queen in the first scene and called it a day

I looove Burlesque so much, and I feel like it's definitely a more queer-coded film than A Star Is Born and has every right to be more iconic to the community.

ASIB was praised by everyone all over the world whereas Burlesque mostly received acclaim in the queer circles and not so much the GP. Therefore in my opinion it is the more iconic LGBT film.

What is more iconic and gay than the legendary Cher and Christina ? ASIB is clearly a huge success in terms of sales/charts thus more GP friendly/liked by straight people.

But Burlesque was clearly made for the gays: cabaret, burlesque, vocals and dancing, a classic for musical and broadway gays!

ASIB is an extremely hetero movie...even having the drag queen scene didn't make it gay

I only watched Burlesque for the first time a couple years ago and was surprised at how much of the scenes I recognised, references I knew and songs I've heard multiple times.

ASIB has a good soundtrack but I thought the movie sucked (not exactly the casts fault). Went on way too long imo.

ASIB was Lady Gaga's return to the straight market, this thread's sheer foundation is the issue here

Apparently they even tried to cut the drag queens but Gaga put her foot down on that one.

House of Gucci had more gay appeal than ASIB

Burlesque is more iconic in the gay community, but I voted ASIB cause that one Xtina stan said something rude about Mariah in another thread :noparty:

Burlesque & Burlesque.

Christina and Cher gave the gays everything they wanted and more. Why Did You Do That? made us move a little but c'mon now, she was on her boring lady bag, and thank GOD those days are over and she's back with songs like Abracadabra. And Bradley Cooper does absolutely nothing for me, sorry.

i havent watched either and i dont pretend to

you think everyone who posts tiffany pollard gifs has seen flavor of love? You just infer the vibe through context clues that's literally how the internet has always worked... it's a movie with cher and christina called burlesque. It's not rocket science mawma. It's very easy to understand what it's about. Watch one or two of the performances and you know the whole

movie basically

Definitely Burlesque.

ASIB wasn't a niche little movie, it was a global phenom not relegated to the gay community.

ASIB is much better and more iconic in general, but Burlesque is probably more iconic for the gays.

Nothing could be gayer than a movie with a Cher but a movie with Cher AND Xtina. nOdrGCw.gifk1QL3NL.gif
