So, I really miss Taylor Swift trying to make us dance. But not with soft production, like what she did on Anti-Hero, I mean something with a stronger bass. I want her to go all in and make one of the most memorable hits of the 2020s. I know she still has it in her.

Hot take, but I think her and Babyface could make some great stuff.

 

 

Think "When Can I See You Again" and "Comfortable;" I'm imagining two brilliant writers and musicians just vibing and creating beautiful music, similar to how he did with Madonna [Bedtime Stories]. I think working with Nile Rodgers could yield some excellent work too.

I fear she's entering a trad wife country era

I mean at this point I'd like it to just exist at all, but I'm feeling another 1989 brewing. Short, concise, effective, commercially-oriented. After that I have a few other things I'd like to see her explore, but it makes sense to strike while the iron is hot as she comes off an incomparable absolute commercial peak. Keep the momentum going, rack up the achievements.

I don't think she'll do a full wall-to-wall pop album again, and I think that time in her career has passed. She set the bar really high with projects like Folkore. I would hate to see her step back from that artistic development. 

 

But that said, I don't think I can really hack another album of easy listening midtempos. What I would really love to hear is Taylor pushing herself sonically. Exploring new sounds with new collaborators.

 

I'm thinking she should do a mixtape. It might take away some of the pressure she puts on herself to be a commercial juggernaut. 

As long as it's a well-thought, mature, curated (not bloated) project, I'll be happy. I wish she put glitter gel pen songs to rest, folklore and evermore are still my favourite albums.

I'm 90% sure the next album will be a fusion between country and chamber pop. Basically folklore but make it Billboard Hot 100 friendly.
