The Jonas Brothers getting nominated over her is literally insane 

What year was she supposed to be nominated and who are the nominees?

Wouldn't she have been eligible in the same year as Amy Winehouse? Nobody else stood a chance

She is delusional if she thinks she was getting a Grammy for tweeny Hanna Montana music. 

Who knows, maybe they'll change the rules again and she'll be eligible!

They would never nominate Hannah Montana, especially not when there were only 5 slots in the main categories and in the mid 00s when the Grammys were extremely traditional

A lot of that music is fun sounding but there's quite some that has some beautiful lyrics that could be Grammy nominating at the very least. She wasn't even considered. She was also only 13, playing two people. That's physically demanding. At 13, that's a lot and while there was child labor laws, it's def not as strict as it was before.

She is right tho. Hannah Montana was a Phenomenon. So a Nominee consideration isn't that wild of a take.

i don't think the recognition she's looking for needed to be provided by the grammys.

Of course Amy was the best. Apologies for not knowing Feist or Ledisi, Miley was definitely a bigger name than them and deserved at least a nomination.

 

Edit: just googled and they seem like really acclaimed Indie artists. There's always a few slots for that so I get it now.

To be fair while they were Disney acts didn't they write and produce their music back then. That and the fact they can all play instruments would've made them look better to the academy then Miley, Demi and Selena

I mean... her first couple of albums as either Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus were not good imo. I don't think she made a good album until Bangerz, honestly.

Well, getting a Grammy back then was 3x harder than it is now. The shocking thing is that the Jonas Brothers managed to get one but I guess their massive success worked in their favor. 

 

There was no way Miley was gonna get nominated, let alone with Hannah Montana still being a thing. Miley and her peers were completely ignored by the Grammys until they were around 25 years old. 

Jonas brothers made teen rock pop too, and it's a genre can have the quality of any other genre, but they wrote their own music.Can't compare them with her first albums when she made these albums written by 850 people without her writing a word or a note 

 

It's not even something against her person what i'm saying...everyone gives fron granted someone like her with a disney contract is not someone really express itself just someone forced to do things..so of course other musicians don't tecognize you as an already formed artist.

If Jonas Brothers hadn't done a guest spot on Hannah Montana & gotten the opening slot on the Best of Both Worlds Tour, they literally would've been less than nothing & I say this as somebody who saw them live multiple times & bought all their CDs. Every crumb of success they have is still owed to their association to Miley. When they stopped riding her coattails, it became Selena (her cameo in Burnin' Up + Nick dating rumours massively contributed to its virality), Taylor (3D movie plug with Should've Said No) & Demi. Every PR relationship came with a gimmicky tie-in to their music. Retrospectively, it's clear as day they were planted fads & the adults in the industry would've known that. It was just safer to nom JB over Miley because they were sexless Jesus freaks while Miley's image wasn't as squeaky clean

She co-wrote all but 3 songs on Meet Miley Cyrus. Same goes for Breakout, so..
