hmm yeah maybe my expectations for post were insane, but the song was #1 on NFM and #3 on TTH and post is one of the biggest streaming forces (probably only drake is bigger) so i expected big things. he still did well ofc, it should debut top 10 on the hot100

Yeah, wouldn’t call #3 with 1.6m weak. It’s not like it’s a lead single from an LP. I shared it with a friends yesterday and they didn’t know it was coming. It’s also already at 8.9m on YT.

 

It’s also against a few strong releases.

yeah i didn't know what to expect, cause he did go on Fallon last week and teased it + played a snippet, it did have a first day radio deal and it was released with a video (which btw did well so i guess it was also pushed on youtube), but yeah it wasn't a lead single so...

Late night audiences and radio deals aren’t guaranteed to translate to streaming, of course. We already know with radio it doesn’t at all, mostly. Especially deals, those are maybe a handful of big stations playing it over and over - not reaching a ton of people. M And yeah the music video pulled in a lot for 24 hours, so a tug and pull on where to hear it.

 

The film also doesn’t drop until December. So it might grow into the huge numbers overtime.

oh i didn't mean that the radio spins would translate into streams significantly, just saying that it kinda got lead single treatment despite not being lead single so i had a hard time knowing what to expect
