Ed sheeran is the only artist with such a global presence. I doubt if even Justin has that much

There are currently 174 songs having more than 1,000 daily streams in Japan and three of them have +10,000. Slowly taking off...

I wonder why only US streams are posted in here ?

Worldwide stats are easy to access, too.:celestial5:

But.. why ? :eatpopcorn:

It is not like Airplay or iTunes charts. Spotify is relevant in nearly everywhere and it's stats are quick to access. :eatpopcorn:

John Mayer. I was surprised it got so high in the first place considering that John Mayer listeners aren't your prototypical Spotify demo.

I agree. We should do this streaming thread for just the US, and create another thread for foreign streaming totals (and sales as well, since we get those numbers). I'm not up to making the thread, but I'm sure someone can.

Eh, that's an exaggeration. Simply not true. And the song has been out like 2 weeks, so you can't argue it has better consistency than Hello. Thus far, so little time, their runs are about the same. Except streaming numbers are bigger than in October 2015. That argument is some months down the road, while he'll need way more streaming hits than just Thinking Out Loud to dismiss Justin like that.

How much has spotify grown since oct 2015 btw? Like almost doubling their premium subscribers right?

Just look at the records Hello broke when it came out. It peaked at 7.06 million a day, before Hello, no song had even done more than 5 million. And the 2.75 mill a day peak in US almost doubled the old record set by hotline bling couple of days before.

Does anyone have an idea what would be today's average revenue per stream, in the US or worldwide?

When HDD puts together their revenue chart, they use 1 on-demand stream = $0.00575 in revenue. Obviously, that's an average (streams from paid subscribers generate more revenue than streams from free users).

I noticed that, which is impressive, but according to Billboard

Quote

Billboard estimates total U.S. revenue at $1.98 billion so far this year, versus $1.82 billion last year, an corresponding 8.9 percent increase. However, the rate that Billboard uses to estimate the revenue generated by streaming ($0.0063 per song), which is clearly a central part of the revenue estimate, has been disputed as too high by some indie labels.

Well, BB's estimate is for all streaming, whereas HDD's is just for on-demand. That could explain the difference. But you're right that it's challenging to give a definitive number.
