Most Asian markets broke down since 2000(except Japan), so that's the reason.

Taylor also sold 10M+. I don't think OP's list includes pure sales from China. 

This is a fake stat because Taylor would be here.

Also this is pure sales only so no streaming era artist would have a chance at all. Digital sales also were never huge in Asia.

In units yes, but these are likely pure (physical, not even digital) for the most part.

is this 10m for a singular album or 10m across all albums?

This list is just stupid and wrong. China is part of Asia and Taylor did too, you want it or not.

It's stupid and wrong because Taylor objectively sold more than 10M copies in Asia. Her digital album sales in China alone are at 8.6M+.

I'm surprised Madonna is above Celine but it's still neck and neck I guess

 

I was also expecting Whitney to be around Mariah's level or Celine but maybe most of the sales come from The Bodyguard (in Asia at least)
