Comedor Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Enough with the Lemonade payola. Self titled and Renaissance should be the albums to represent Beyonce in those all time lists.
tshwark Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) I suppose it's based on songwriting, because the experience provided by Whitney or Celine at their peak with their vocal performances is just as good as that of some classic albums. Edited 5 hours ago by tshwark 1
ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted 5 hours ago ATRL Moderator Posted 5 hours ago Interesting list...a lot of points were made but 1989 is not Taylor's best album I get why it was included though since it was a big moment and all

Gen X will take seniority and I don't think they're full blown poptimists like that. Jazz has taken the biggest critical hits from younger critics, and once boomers have minimal to no presence that'll probably be the end of it getting retrospective love. 1

alejandreaux Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Songs in the Key of Life completely missing the top 100??? flop fat nasty broke RACIST list 1 1
Park Jinyoung Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It's actually incredible to me to slowly see In Rainbows overtake OKC in many of these lists.
Technicolor Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Muse, New Order, Prefab Sprout and Gwen making the list It is lacking modern releases though

I think it's safe to say Prince is to gen x music enthusiasts what artists like Bowie and Dylan are to boomers (and I guess older Rockists at large). Expect him to get more love, and late 80s-90s music to start getting canonized the way 60s and 70s music has been to this point. At least that's my prediction lol, the big 21st century poptimist love is largely millennial driven. Gen X was also the last generation to really grow up in a full era of the album, the 90s revisionism appreciation is on the way! ETA: Instead of this site always dunking on the "unofficial" AcclaimedMusic.net, we need to be thankful we have a living document of the changes and history of western music journalism.
