Have you ever almost left a restaurant because the wait was too long?

Yes. Why not?

Not almost. I left a restaurant (or a cafe) because the wait was too long. 
 

I am here to exchange my money for your service. If your service isn't there, why would I pay?

Yeah. Almost. But then I realized I was too hungry to go somewhere else. 

I went to Red Lobster once with my family when I was like 8-9 and the wait was too long so we left. On another note, that's not a restaurant we ever went to at all otherwise so I never had it until I was like 22.

Hmm no I'm too shy to stand up and say anything and also would feel bad just leaving 

 

I think once with my first bf we nearly did but eventually we got our food 

Yes.  I have left.  But this was after ordering, seeing the table next to me get seated, order (similar things), get their food, eat, pay and leave before I got my food.  

No. In fact I'm still at the restaurant, still sitting in a corner I haunt, cross-legged in the dim light.

All the time. And I work at a restaurants for like a decade. So I know how it is on the other side. Horrible. But more then a 15 minute wait is a no for me dawg

That just happened to me yesterday. My bf and I walked into this pub restaurant wanting one drink and an appetizer, and the young worker looked confused like it was her first day on the job, and she didn't appear to speak good English when we asked her something, and she sat us way in the back far from everything and no other tables were full in that area. Then we waited for like 20 minutes with no one coming by. I tried getting up to the bar area but it was too packed and no other waiters were able to stop, so we just left and went to Cheesecake Factory.

Yeah, usually when I have somewhere to be after 

No. Thankfully I've never had to wait very long at a restaurant. The Doctor's Office is a different story though.

Yesterday I was out and they forgot about our table. Bought the food out half an hour late. AND they had the audacity to ask for additional service charge

No, why are you rushed in a restaurant? Usually when I go dinner I have plenty of time, order cocktails and often a bottle of wine, the food arrives when it arrives and I enjoy the time with my bf or friends while waiting for the food

 

and if it is REALLY long before getting the food I'll ask for free stuff at the end to compensate 

not almost, but literally.

and it wasnt waiting for the food, but waiting to acutally order the food

 

and it wasnt even that busy, the waiter was eating nuts behind the counter, acting like he doesn't see us or smtn 

Yes, once this summer. And I did leave. They said the wait was 2 hours. 

I left. I literally ordered the most simple **** ever: a salad

Yes, but only if the wait was indeterminate. If you tell me the wait is 40 minutes, I'll leave and come back. But if you just let your customers sit there and don't give them a heads up, I bail.

i left a restaurant before due to wait time and poor treatment. i was first to sit then watched the waiter attended to other tables who came in after me. 

 

usually wait times dont bother me bc depending on the place, ik what im getting myself into or will just order takeout.

Uh, several times. You can do it in a polite way, but restaurants here often end up with much longer wait than anticipated.

I usually call ahead and ask if it's busy / long wait.

several times. I've already left when I was on the table waiting for one server to come close then leave because they didn't show up for me to ask what I wanted. this time it was great because I had a great dinner in another restaurant.
