Was Mariah's performance in Precious an Oscar worthy performance?

Nomination, yes. She very easily could have  replaced Maggie Gyllenhaal in Crazy Heart that year in supporting actress who was a shock in 2010. And Penelope Cruz in Nine.

I mean she's fine in her two? scenes but nothing award worthy. She's not given much to do, really. That scene was 100% a Mo'nique showcase and was her Oscar scene.

Oscar worthy is a stretch but she ate up this role so well. I miss seeing her humble and real like this

Honestly, yes. It was a complete transformation. The other pop "actresses" could never.
