Gaga was terrible in Joker FAD. She was the main reason the movie flopped tbh.

Not surprised since the Eras Tour Feature Film was selling an EXPERIENCE. You got a beautiful popcorn bucket and cup and you got to watch the movie with the fantastic Swiftie community. It was a fun family event for all ages. The Joker FAD film is a Rated R clown movie turned musical. GaGa's name was not enough to sell tickets. The talent had to be there, just like the fantastic movie and soundtrack A Star Is Born. The spark has extinguished, Gaga is not made to be a film star anymore.

International grosses:

JFad: $148,100,000

Eras: $80,900,000

So yes, I am surprised.

No but what is the reason the Eras tour movie sold more tickets in the US but JFAD sold more internationally when one had 99% on RT and the other was rotten. :deadbanana2:

GlobalGa strikes even when she bombs I guess. :ryan3:

Now do one where you compare profit after accounting for the budget and expenses?

I'm not a Swiftie, but I'll try to explain it! The Gaga movie was a historic bomb that lost 9 figures, and the Taylor movie turned a profit.

Yes but this thread is about OUTGROSSING, not about being profitable etc.

There were more people willing to spend their hard earned money on a ROTTEN movie like JFAD than a FRESH movie like Eras.

Probably has to with the fact that it's a concert movie, the highest grossing of its kind at that. Meanwhile Ga Ga's tour movie could barely chart on the HBO max charts. Imagine the disaster if it was released in theaters

Yet it had NO PROBLEM outgrossing JFAD in the US despite being a concert movie. Something doesn't add up, resident OGH.

Yes, you're right. I don't think it's fair to expect a Lady Gaga movie to make a profit. Congrats to the out-grossing queen, Lady Gaga. :clap3:

Yes, and the Eras Tour movie outgrossed JFAD. :bibliahh:You ignoring an entire segment and market, and selectively choosing to only acknowledge the international gross, doesn't change reality. :rip:

And the reality is JFAD a bomb outgrossed Eras Tour movie outside of the US. That's also something you cannot change.
