This year this award belongs to Hit Me Hard And Soft, and BY FAR, no album in this category gets close, any other winner would make no sense tbh.

I do really hope Bey gets her win… just not with this album. I didn't find it all that great. But then again, neither was Midnights. Nor is TTPD.

Anyways, I voted for HMHAS. Midwest Princess would be my second vote. Actually maybe brat. Hard to say.

brat is overrated and is terrible autotuned noise crash was better. Jacob collier a great musician but makes shitty music. Taylors album while successful is awful. Andrew 300 didn't love his album but would love to see him win. I don't get the hype behind chappel roan but wouldn't be mad if she won

I didn't say that it's not. It's completely irrelevant, however, and it doesn't have any sort of outstanding acclaim that would justify a win. Whenever a random record like that wins, it's always a man's. It doesn't happen to women. So yeah.

If Olivia couldn't win in her breakout year, I don't think Sabrina will win either but I think she'll have a big night 

 

I feel like I heard more about Chapelle's outbursts than domination of her album. It doesn't feel like the splash Billie's debut made. I think she'll have a big night too but not with AOTY

 

Charlie's is an interesting case study. I think she'd actually have stood a better chance if this had been her debut. I checked out the album due to the social media noise. Personally, it's not for mw and I'm not sure it's appeal is transcendent. I think she'll something somewhere else. 
 

A plausible case could be made for every Taylor win so far. I don't think there's a strong narrative for TTPD. I'd be surprised if she even campaigns heavily for it. If she does, it'll be to compensate for the middling critical reception. Besides its massive debut, it's commercial performance was very forced with all those versions. 
 

Billie has a strong case. She's a grammy darling, won general field multiple times. Her last album didn't win it and with her 2 oscar wins, the industry isn't miserly with their recognition of her. HHMAS has everything going for it; acclaim, sales, smash hit. I could absolutely see her taking this. 
 

I'm quite surprised to see CC get as much mentions as it did here actually. The tune was certainly different in the grammy thread. As a fan, I can honestly say the album isn't a downgrade to me. But I can admit for some reason, it didn't connect with as many people. That said I won't have a problem with it winning. Many supposedly unremarkable albums have won before. Certainly no one was counting streams or sales when she lost to Beck. But Bey is also a polarising figure so I'll never get my hopes of her winning anything in the general field again.

HIT ME HARD AND SOFT is the best album overall and the most deserving.

 

Cowboy Carter is mid, but could win just based on Beyonce's legacy

 

Brat also deserved to win, for sure but most probably won't.

What's crazy is that I think one of the only things that could stop Bey from winning is if these (obviously fake) rumors of her being involved in Diddy's mess get any bigger. That conspiracy theory has actually gotten pretty mainstream
