commander Posted November 6 Posted November 6 He's exactly right but the Dems will never learn that playing Blue MAGA is never fruitful. 7 1
QueenBeyoncé Posted November 6 Posted November 6 (edited) But working class think Trump & Republicans will help them? We're in this mess because of him! And Dems like always have to come clean it up then get blamed when Republicans destroy it!   Let's call it what it is America has a racist and a woman problem! And that's the bottom line! Edited November 6 by QueenBeyoncé 8 3 1 13
Popular Post St. Charles Posted November 6 Popular Post Posted November 6 I'm someone that has been okay-ish with the Democratic establishment. But all things considered, I think this is true. Â In 2016, people seemed pretty skeptical of Hillary. However, we elected her because we thought she might have the best shot at beating Trump, and would focus on other things later. Â In 2020, people did not seem enthusiastic about Joe Biden, but we picked someone who we thought had a really good chance of beating Trump, and everything else was secondary. Â In 2024, people would not have elected Kamala had she gone through the primary process. Still, we went with this and did the brat memes and **** because we thought we had a good chance of beating Trump. Â Now that we can't use the "at least it's better than Trump" excuse after this, maybe we can evolve the platform to something else entirely. Let's stop devoting so many resources to Republicans and trying to counter their strategies and focus on what our own people want and have been asking for. 41 5

And that's the bottom line! I'm sorry, but this is just simpleton and a cop-out. 80 million people didn't vote for Trump because they're all racists and misogynists. Plenty of women AND people of color voted for Trump, so they're suddenly racist and misogynistic against themselves?? Please be serious.  The bottom line is Americans wanted change and were screaming for something different and things to change.  They're sick of and fed up with the status quo. Deluded as they might be thinking Trump would bring this, they went with the person who is most against the establishment and how things are ran. Period. I don't agree and believe they're foolish because Trump isn't going to do anything but serve himself, but this is where we're at.  Democrats didn't do enough to speak to working people's issues and demonstrate they would bring about the change that is needed. 31 1 4

Vermouth Posted November 6 Posted November 6 (edited) 8 minutes ago, Delirious said: He needs to shut the **** up with his old ass Well the US does not have comprehensive universal healthcare, or minimum vacation days, or for the most part minimum wages, or maternity leave, all things taken completely for granted in just about every other Western country. He's right about prescription drugs too, they are way way cheaper elsewhere. Â Now if I were running a party of the centre left in the US I'd start by looking at that list above and seeing what I could do. And just as a pointer the US spends about 15/16% of gdp on healthcare whereas in Europe it's about 7-9% and provides better outcomes overall. So you are being fleeced, which also means you can afford it. Â Â Edited November 6 by Vermouth 11

Popular Post Beyonnaise Posted November 6 Popular Post Posted November 6 Everyone irl I've talked to today has said people are just tired of the same celebrities being wheeled out every four years saying how it's the most important election of our lives and pushing candidates that don't offer anything beyond Trump Bad. The Democratic Party branding across the country is awful and it's directly tied to the Clinton/Obama/Pelosi/Schumer grip on the party. They need to completely clean house and build something new from the ground up rooted in the FDR tradition with messages that sound like how actual living people speak and not corporate consultants. 51 4 1
