I don't understand this rising transphobia in Anglophone countries.....I mean, in Italy we had a representative who was openly transgender in the 2000s and it wasn't much of a problem, whereas in the UK starting from 2019 onwards, there was a weird obsession with trans people and in the US it got even worse around 2022. What is happening?

Oh yeah. I agree with you. Meloni is basically what Thatcher was in Britain in the 80s. However, the Vatican is a huge problem here for LGBTQ+ rights. The trans discourse hasn't entered yet btw. I don't think it's illegal to ask the reason why transphobia is rising in Anglophone.
