Exactly. Bruno released another song: it's also a mega hit. Gaga released another song: it's a flop. It's REALLY not difficult to see who's doing the heavy lifting with DWAS

I'm not even trying to be mean here, i just have to ask: don't you guys realise how unlikable you come across? You guys ALWAYS gratuitously attack every other artist, always. You live in this weird alternate reality where Gaga is this endlessly successful artist who never fails in any way yet every pop star you don't like, including legends like Madonna, is a flop/irrelevant nobody and deserves endless hate. Are you really that surprised that other fanbases just get fed up after a while?

 

Once again, i'm not trying to be mean here, i'm just trying to understand. Why are you surprised that most fanbases don't like Monsters? 

I'd give the Monsters some grace here. Applause, Million Reasons, and Rain On Me were far from failures, and a lot of the others like Judas, Do What U Want, The Cure etc. did moderately. I just think the irony here is that the Monsters were surprisingly humble for the past year only to be the first to lash Katy for flopping earlier this year, when they could've condemned her use of Dr. Luke and moved along. Instead they reveled so much in her failures and started dragging others like Beyonce too and ultimately they got a huge humbling over the course of this month.

The thing is: they didn't care about Katy's connection with Luke, it was just an excuse to attack her. Also, while not ALL of those songs are complete flops, they were not exactly big hits like some people pretend. Gaga's career has been extremely hit or miss, she hasn't been consistent at all.

Monsters are not a monolith, I'm not a spokesman for the fanbase… every single base here has bad actors that come across as obnoxious and annoying. These traits are not exclusive to those that enjoy Gaga's music. Just go look at the swifties, barbz or the hive if you want insight into highly toxic/volatile fan behaviour.

 

Gaga often flops. I'm used to it - most of the songs in the list I provided didn't really do that much on the charts and that's fine. I'm really not trying to pretend otherwise…

Sometimes she wins, sometimes she loses… but success isn't the reason why most of us are ride or die for her - if that were the case we'd have abandoned ship after Artpop… (which was over ten years ago at this point).

Whether you like or not, she's amassed a very loyal (and very large) fanbase that will support her for the rest of her career… and that kind of success is extremely valuable in today's age where monoculture is very, very dead.

But everyone was attacking Katy and her connection to Luke? The entirety of gay Twitter revolted against her… she got booed at the VMA's over it. 
 

 

This was much, much bigger than bitter Gaga fans who wanted payback for the decade old Roar VS. Applause fiasco.

If there was a storyline it didn't make any sense. The looks weren't particularly great. It won't catch on with the GP as it's too dark. A mess. It reminds me of John Wayne, just chaotic for the sake of being chaotic.

 

Out of the two videos the DWAS live video actually was more entertaining to me.   #ThankYouBruno
