ICLDXU4HS Posted October 24 Posted October 24 (edited) I don't think so. CMBYN was very romantic/romanticizable and wholesome in term of its story (in b4 someone doing the most re: the age gap thing again) and appealed to lots of straights (young white women especially loved that ****). Queer sounds like more of a niche thing. Abigails won't be here for a guy that could be their dad whoring around. Edited October 24 by ICLDXU4HS 3
Khal Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Daniel Craig is extremely unpleasant to look at, so no for that reason alone. 1 7 2 4

Yeah straight women love them twinks I just hope this new movie will not be too depressing
no_better Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Not at all. Queer is not a very accessible film - it's very long and it gets slow and weird. CMBYN was a romantic story but Queer is mostly about obsession and addiction 1 1
ChooseyLover Posted October 24 Posted October 24 (edited) I see a lot of talk online about this film. Is it because people like the actors? I love queer cinema and it hasn't appealed to me in the slightest (just like CMBYN). I'm slightly intrigued by Omar Apollo's acting but that's it. Edit: I see Luca Guadagnino directed both films mentioned in the OP. I had no idea. Edited October 24 by ChooseyLover

Witnessed ET Posted October 24 Posted October 24 I think people don't realize that Timothee Chalamander was a huge draw for cmbyn. He's just so effortlessly charming in that movie. And also his barely legal twink appearance kinda drew in a lot of men AND women, Armie was an extra cherry on top. I don't see Daniel Craig or the other guy having that. 1
Radical Pessimism Posted October 24 Posted October 24 (edited) I'm only here for the bj/sex scenes Edited October 24 by Radical Pessimism

It wasn't only the gays. 3

Saying Timothée almost won an Oscar feels a bit exaggerated, as he was merely a nominee at the 2018 Oscars, where another actor was practically guaranteed to win from the beginning. also, if Gary Oldman hadn't been in the running, Daniel Day Lewis would have likely been the main contender that year 1

Timothee won the biggest critic prizes and most reginonals. . He won two of the trifecta: LAFCA AND NYFCC. Kaluuya won NSFC. I don't even Stan Timothee but you don't have to change the facts cuz you don't like the movie. Sure, oldman got the tv awards but the non televised it was Timothee, not DDL. Anyone who's into movie award season can tell you this. the consensus was oldman then timothee with a chance of being the spoiler, not DDL. I think even Kaluuya won more than DDL let's not. 1
