I will never be convinced that an exclusively plant based diet is healthy.

that's science denial btw. every major health organisation, including the WHO, recognises that a well-balanced vegan diet (including B12 supplementing) is safe, healthy and adequate  for almost every person, including infants and that it reduces risks of cardiovascular diseases and cancers.

vegan or plant "milks", "meats" are way too high priced in my country

This is genuinely gross. I tend to get oat milk, but when you see $8 prices for a tiny (less than 1L) bottle of oat milk that only has 3 ingredients (oats, water, salt) you start to wonder what they are charging you for. Oats are dirt cheap and doesn't cost much to extract flavourful liquid out of them. Water component of it is almost free and so is salt. It's packaged in a plastic or paper bottle which is dirt cheap. So what are you charging 8$ for when it cost you less than 20/30 cents to produce it???

The humanity cannot even agree to stop bombing each other over dumb things, good luck making them drop their meat :rip:

Well yes, we all should eat less meat and more plant-based meals, it's healthier for us and better for the environment.

Eating meat is still normal, sorry. What's not normal is how much we've grown to be dependent on meat in our meals, though.

the girls getting sodefensive and making jokes about this  like 10 year olds trina be edgy because they don't have the range of creating a meal without an innocent being on it... It's so embarassing

Vegan food is so expensive. It's almost a scam. I eat both.

Veganism has become so whitewashed and myopic and I say this as someone that cannot stomach beef or pork.

The hell does this even mean

Also +1 to vegan alternatives when it comes to pricing. Here 1L of cow milk costs $1.5, whereas nut milk starts at $6-7 and if you want anything good, say a good rich coconut milk, that's gonna set you back $8.

Same thing goes for meat alternatives like Beyond minced meat or chicken. Amid the inflation we're in and my salary only diminishing in purchasing power, I cannot reason paying a premium for plant-based food.

Spoiler

It's sad really cause grains are cheap, and I love a good lentil burger patty or a mushroom chicken-like patty. But the inconvenience of the plant-based diet is insane for many unless you're rich and can excuse paying 5-6x the price for the vegan alternative.

If all the people who consume meat were to start consuming plant-based foods in literally the same way they consume meat, wouldn't that be just as detrimental if not worse?

My point being that we should focus on the way food is consumed (and produced and advertised) vs what is actually being consumed

Is the article 21,000 people signed in the room with us? The source you posted had a dead link.

Going to the home page itself, it looks like you HAVE to sign the article in question in order to join their organization.

"scientists only" it says below the link to sign the article

tell me how highly these "scientist" signatories think of themselves without actually telling me

Likewise.

I tried to switch from Steak to plant based Beyond Steak, the plant based was nearly $14 dollars for a small freezer bag, double what I paid for the actual meat brand from the deli counter.

Likewise with egg alternatives. I can get an entire 12 pack of eggs for about $3... the plant base alternative costed me nearly $10 for 4 'eggs'.

It isn't practical.

the "veganism agenda" in question being the scientific consensus that eating less meat could save the planet lmfao, y'all are so cooked.

The world is going to hell one way or another, we are really beyond the point of saving. The only thing we can do is just not reproduce so less humans will be around to suffer the consequences.

eating meat is one of the most natural things in the world.

When you're a cute little tribe hunting in your local forest it is. Not so much when you're mass farming 78 billion animals a year. 140,000 chickens are slaughtered every minute. It's pretty insane
