They had signed bundles for ages, at first available to all, then sold out in EU store but available in the UK store until the release tbh. Signed items were limited to bundles of vinyl, CD and possibly the download as well, not sure. I hope they'll manage to ship them all, I'm still waiting for confirmation of dispatch, and one of my packages has been stuck for ages in the wrong country... also Blood Records had an exclusive vinyl so that was immediately 5000 sales, and Amazon has exclusive vinyl. And having a very successful tour in UK now also helped with pre-orders as people were able to pre-order as they were waiting for the show to start. They don't have to be a streaming force once they have a fanbase willing to pay and buy physicals.

Why is that strange? Fans of legacy acts buy albums no?

I mean it makes sense, the 10xWembley pre-sale was open to people who have pre-ordered the album prior. I imagine lots of people bought it purely because of that incentive.

Yes TINI, yes sales :clap3:

well not really, they just heavily incentivized pre-orders for the album by locking 900k tickets behind a pre-sale available to those who bought the alberm

Not bad for a bland boring generic band as some are claiming

Buying the album was not mandatory, you could just sign up to their newsletter. I think what you're suggesting is illegal in the UK :gaycat4:

Well, maybe a purchase wasn't necessary, but that wasn't made clear at all in their newsletter (and I suppose anywhere else, either):

This is what I got:

They are, the second week drop will be a disaster. Only 3K streaming units :deadbanana2:

You realize Katy debuted at #6 with less than 10k units right? The album will still chart for some weeks based on sales alone.

With that said, I don't get why people expect Coldplay to have a smash album in 2024. They're a 27 year old band in a landscape dominated by solo artists :rip:
