tiagol88 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Quote A blog post on Microsoft's game developer website has highlighted the firm's intention to learn why Xbox is being skipped over in favour of other platforms. Quote It's no big secret that certain developers have faced struggles with the Xbox ecosystem in recent times. The biggest example is Baldur's Gate 3, which was delayed on Xbox because of the Series S console's inability to competently run the game in split-screen mode. Quote This new push from Microsoft to improve its relationship with developers is perhaps a result of missteps such as these. It's "all about giving game developers what they need to feel empowered and supported by Xbox," reads the blog post. Quote Most interestingly, the scope of the research extends to those not making their games for Xbox. "If you aren't on Xbox, we'd love to know why," Hendersen says. "And honestly, if you are using our competitor's products, you probably have a great perspective we could learn from!" Source This should've been done 10 years ago 1
RideOrDie Posted October 2 Posted October 2 focus on making a decent Windows OS experience so that you won't be asking why is everyone using a Mac/Linux in 5 years time instead of trying to salvage Flopbox give it up Sony won 4 1 2

Rigalo Posted October 2 Posted October 2 The userbase that they do have (which is what, half of ps5 owners) are conditioned to not pay for games. Seems like a pretty easy conclusion to come to 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Probably cuz nobody has played or cared for a Xbox since like 2014 1
vuelve88 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Microsoft should investigate why it can't optimize its own video game systems. 2

Venice B Posted October 2 Posted October 2 This is kinda funny tbh like it took them this long to realize?
lgaga1fan Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Do they really need to investigate? It's like asking where the Titanic is girl we know the answer
Raichu Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I feel like console gaming beyond Nintendo is phasing out regardless. What in house titles do Playstation and XBox have at this point which makes people buy a console over a competent gaming PC (where almost everything is available anyway) 2
Gelato Posted October 2 Posted October 2 it's like asking a popstar why they would announce their new album on instagram and not atrl

Xbox problems aren't Sony's problems. 1

I had a PS5 and to be honest it just collected dust. I now buy everything on Steam. I prefer handhelds like Switch or Steamdeck and if I want to play something on a big screen I can do it on my PC. Apart from that, I'm only really interested in mixed reality, but you don't need a console for that either. I like Horizon Zero Dawn, but you don't need to buy a Playstation for that anymore. Both parts are on Steam. I've had every Playstation apart from the PS1, but I don't see myself buying the PS6 unless there's a handheld version. 2
Eóghan Posted October 2 Posted October 2 but if devs are prioritising the PS5, where are the PS5 games? everyone and their mother have been switching to pc as an alternative or just straight up full time in the past 5 years or so. there's no winner in this console fight, just losers. 1 1 1

What are you talking about? PS5 has sold over 60 million consoles as of 2024 and is outpacing the sales of ps4 in the same time frame. PC players really live in their own world. CBC Posted October 2 Posted October 2 They should investigate all their products then because I can't think of a single one that is good nowadays. Windows is a mess, hotmail same thing, windows phone was a damn joke, xbox a mega flop, azure keeps getting stomped by aws, teams one of the biggest memes in recent years... if linux/mac get better at supporting PC gaming microsoft is DEAD 4
