On Chaka's Instagram page, they mentioned that the original single is certified Platinum and now the digital single is certified Platinum.

 

Why didn't the RIAA tell them that these two certs. can be added together for one certification: 2x Platinum?

I've noticed BPI do this also. They just issue a new certification for digital rather than re-audit the original cert. and combine.
