I've never been diligent enough to watch an entire Pokemon season, but I think the overall premise of the gen 8 anime made for an interesting viewing, and it also included some of the funniest Pokemon episodes I've ever seen. But if you are an Ash stan and only care about his journey and him catching all the pokemon, it splits the focus between Ash and Goh pretty evenly so... I'd say you should go for it and see how you like it.
