This is the first time that I am not excited for new Gwen… i wish we got that reggae album now because this country sounding mess is not it Gwen… sad ㅠㅠ.

Planning on giving this a listen on Friday, but it's pretty much guaranteed that will be my one and only listen. So sad. I would give her more credit if she wasn't wearing a cowboy hat on the album cover when she explicitly said the album isn't country. Like… make it make sense Gwen girl! All the songs have a country feel to them whether she's gonna admit it or not lol.

lol can i ask why we hate country? like, the fact we have to even tip-toe around it and defend it from being country is such a weird slant.

 

i love this sound for gwen. it feels like a sincere expansion into new territory. it's country-esque in the same way that americana/blue grass is country.

just feeling like we gotta sit this one out cuz it's got a twang or something is a stupid thing fickle babies wanna do when it's time for broccoli. i'm cheering gwen on for this, even though i know it isn't gonna do squat

Finished my first listen and I love this so much! This is very adult, very optimistic and lovely. A lot of guitars, but not country, it's truly the yacht rock she was telling us about. Can't wait for my vinyl to arrive!

it's lovely! very cohesive and has some great tracks. really curious what the original demos were sounding like, someone on another site mentioned faster/brighter.
