First signs of aging you've noticed on yourself?

Metabolism slowing down and weight gain has been the bane of my existence. I miss eating whatever I wanted and never putting on weight. This is my karma for laughing at people who said metabolism slows with age and I thought I was invincible :rip:

The crow's feet, the dark circles, the hair thinning, the reduction in metabolism

But other that, I surprisingly can still pass off as an 18 - 22 year old (for a person of East Asian ancestry) and I am way older than that. This means I can pass as a 16 year old if non-Asians were to look at me. :gaycat:

I haven't tbh. My Uber driver last night told me I looked 19, so I tipped him $19.

Forehead wrinkles and I guess hairline. Some stuff like eye bags I had all my life

My dad had gray hair all his life, from maybe when he was 20, so I'm surprised I didn't inherit that. Seems to be more common among people with dark hair, he's jet black and I'm dirty blonde/light brown

I cannot stand loud noise anymore. I used to blast my music everywhere, now I'm the one asking others to lower the volume down, even for tv shows or movies.

Also I find joy in doing the dishes and the laundry. :rip: It's very relaxing knowing you cleaned your own dishes and can trust that your cutlery and plates are fully clean the next time you want to use them.

Eye bags. For the last month I've been noticing my eye bags are much more proeminent, dry and stuff. I've got an appointment with my dermathologist coming up and she will have to deal with this because there's no way in hell I'll leave them like this :biblio:

Just typical decrease in elasticity in the face. I'm hyperfixating lately on how the side of my face I often slept on (former side sleeper) is slightly less "tight" than the other side. But nothing major and I've been doing tretinoin twice daily since March so it best tighten me up

I barely have any wrinkles since I've been using Tret for a decade, but it can only do so much. Aging shows from beneath the skin when everything starts to sag and you lose fat volume. I still look younger than my age, but I've noticed over the past 3 years my aging accelerated probably due to stress and grief. My eye bags are bagging more and I can see the nasolabial folds slightly forming from bed rotting and sidesleeping. :jonnycat:

I've been on tret for 7 months. Thoughts on it as someone who's done it for 10 years? I'm in my mid twenties and my skin has always looked good and smooth but I'm naturally noticing less facial elasticity, especially on the side I used to sleep on. Is tret worth it long term?

It's the weight gain for me.

I have a few gray hairs near my part, a few fine forehead lines that are only really visible when I'm exhausted, and some REALLY tiny lines under my eyes

I like ONLY drink water (and sometimes alcoholic drinks) and I take collagen gummies now. I moisturize after every time I shower or shave, and always wear sunscreen!

I think I'll continue to age pretty well cause my mom blessed me with the peasant jewish genes that helped every man in her fam to live into their mid-80s for the past several generations. my bubbie died at 92 also! I've always had a big ass forehead (which people used to make fun of :storm:) but it's a good sign cause I also take strongly after my mom in terms of my hair genes. we have the exact same curl pattern! the one thing that I do think will happen to me young is going almost full gray lol, which I wouldn't mind too much. my mom had me when she was 41 and she already was dyeing half her hair at that point :duck: I work out regularly and take good care of my skin so I think I'm gonna age pretty well overall!

It'll smooth out your face and diminish visible surface flaws like wrinkles, spots, and texture. It'll do more good than harm and starting it early as possible will offset some signs of aging. Smooth skin will always be better than wrinkles and bumpy skin. It's only harmful you if you use tret without sunscreen the following day and if you use it too much to the point that it dries out your skin barrier.

Losing elasticity and the underlying volume below the skin are inevitable and it'll mostly show around the mouth, eye area, and some develop jowls. That will happen regardless if you use tret or not. You will see it in certain lighting, like if you were to shine a flashlight on your face in the mirror in the dark that's when I really see the slight loss of facial volume that gives you that "sagging" effect. Aging hits everyone like a brick and studies have shown you actually do hit dramatic bursts at certain ages like 44 and 60 years old. Tret can only remedy the top layer of the skin, it won't address the aging below your skin which requires something like filler.

If I'm able to take off 5 years off my age rn or 10 years off when I hit 40, I'll continue using tret since it works for me and the difference between my peers and I are there. I will take what I can get. :priceless:
