Lil Mxnster Posted August 19 Posted August 19 She did the right thing. Some stans are really WEIRD and CREEPY af! Learn to behave, for God's sake! 1
Pink Ranger Posted August 19 Posted August 19 (edited) I understand her argument but however what did you expect to happen when you sign with a label who are going to promote your music to the masses? doing talk shows promoting your music is bringing more attention on yourself. If she just wants to release music, drop them on soundcloud and leave it at that but she wouldn't because the cheques that are coming from it. Yes no one is entitled to harass and stalk celebrities, it's weird behaviour and people shouldn't do it, HOWEVER, this comes with being a celebrity wether she likes it or not, not all fans are bad, it's a select few who act like this so she needs to decide if she wants to be a massive pop star or not and stop the moaning online because it will eventually turn people off. SHES a massive talent who deserves all the success in the world. So either embrace it or stop promoting yourself and your art. Edited August 19 by Pink Ranger 6

knewbetterpt2 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Anyone saying she isn't cut out or built for fame because she's unwilling to put up with harassment is just WEIRD. Being a fan of someone's art doesn't mean you're entitled to them as a person whether you're "paying her bills" or not???? Very strange takes in here! She's the change this industry desperately needs to set boundaries with parasocial relationships. 1

CroNich Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I pretty much agree with everyone thing she said except the part where she said it's creepy for fans to ask for a selfie or whatever. Yes, she has every right to refuse and protect her space, but I don't understand why she's acting brand new, as if parasocial relationships haven't been a thing for like 10-15 years, and the fact that she puts her music, art, lore and truth out there means she isn't just a random lady to a lot of people anymore. In saying that, no one deserves to be made to feel uncomfortable or unsafe by just existing, but I dont get why she's asking so brand new with some of this stuff. 5
goverm3nth0ker Posted August 19 Posted August 19 i love her and since her career blew up i think god i hope shes doing well bc she's so talented and i want her to go mainstream so bad but mainstream isnt for anybody. we HAVE seen some weird and creepy behaviors from fans and paparazzi towards britney, gaga, and every pop girl we love and i think it needs some strict mindset to handle it right but chappell, i had some mixed feelings about this cuz you're, want it or not, a celebrity, you becoming relatable, you're saving lifes with your music people connects with you, i really think she needs some guidance to handle these things better because.. from sounding worried to sounding a little cocky is only one step away.
applestar Posted August 19 Posted August 19 She should just stay as a straight yt woman drag race fan and leave music alone 2 4 1

Gaga is the one who laid the ground work and connected the bridge from the fan to artist interactions and relationships. (And look how that ended up for her) 3 3

ugo Posted August 19 Posted August 19 She's getting a bit too much like the archetypal popstar I liked her because she was different… 2
PrettyHurts Posted August 19 Posted August 19 She's not *wrong* but girl, you're famous it's only going to get worse so I wish her the best 2
Mocha Posted August 19 Posted August 19 she's taking way too long to release a follow up to good luck, babe. she really is over it

She used to be more interactive with her fans online before she blew up! She would dm fans, do live streams and shared her personal Spotify and give unreleased songs to her fans. 1

mael Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Hopefully she learns to deal with the baggage that comes along with being famous and hire the right people to help her navigate through stardom...
TheHanyo Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Imagine going on TV dressing like she does and then complaining about getting attention. The math isn't mathing. She cannot change human social behavior that has existed for THOUSANDS OF YEARS. I feel old for the first time… 5
aotwbys Posted August 19 Posted August 19 NOBODY would know it's her without that white paint anyway 2
