Luckily for her, it won't last long.

listen she completely has a point, but the way she's handling this is kinda turning me off of her a little bit :rip: still like the music though. but within context, especially with her a month ago crying on stage how she seems overwhelmed with her newfound fame, it makes me think she's just not cut out of the superstar life. i defended her that time too, but adding this to the situation makes me think different now. maybe she's better off as an indie girlie. but even that involves some sort of fan interaction. a simple photo or hello, is different from the stalking and deranged behavior. all i'm saying is that this isn't even half of what ariana went through. not a quarter of what britney went through. and so on that i don't need to elaborate and compare... i get that it's the change from the parasocial relationship that she's wanting, but she's already benefiting off it because it did change a bit from a few years ago. esp with how we tolerate how the media treats celebrities. (excluding south korea)

that being said, i could see her target demographic could get crazy though. so i get that it could get insane for her part. poor girl attracting the weird former-tumblr girlies :rip:

by the way, all the yapping aside... if she's entitled to speaking out, her fans are also entitled to their own opinion. you CAN'T say all that and expect there won't be a reaction :toofunny3: maybe at the end of the day, this conversation was needed. but it's also apparent not everyone is meant for this lifestyle, and it's on their terms to make the changes. not others, because really you can't control people sadly (us normal people even have to deal with it, if you want change YOU do it. don't rely on other people). i remember Jennifer Lawrence talking about this early in her career- if it was her day off, she politely declines getting asked for photos. but the issue didn't blow up because she didn't make it a big deal. slowly, things changed for her and she adjusted. i think Chappell needs to talk to her team about this, and if things don't change, she needs a better team.

she is right but this video is pointless, it's just screaming into void. every sensible person will agree with her, but people who this message is aimed to, will be in denial and assume it's not about them. what will happen though is, it will create more people that want to make her life more miserable, because unfortunately some people are sick.

so the baseline is, either quit and in some time your life might come back to normal, or just adjust to new reality and take necessary measures to keep you safe

Lmao what the heck is this. She's so annoyed and annoying, if she doesn't want fame then maybe she should already retire cause definitely it's not for her. And calling her fans random ***** isn't too kind of her. She should take some media training and temper her anger.

I have a ton of empathy for her, especially as an introvert. Stans are loud and wrong 99% of the time. My only thing is I wish she named a specific unsettling example instead of just making a blanket statement insinuating that actions such as asking for a photo or screaming her name from a distance is "creepy." Not that she should be viewed any differently at all as a person, but it wasn't necessarily strategic either. But on the flip side, it adds to her authenticity for sure.

Of course she has every right to feel how she's feeling, however, it comes with the territory as others have said. Does it suck? Absolutely! But you've got to suck it up and get on with it. Working in service or retail you encounter rude people who speak to you like ****, but unfortunately it comes with the territory. Working as a health worker means long, understaffed shifts, but unfortunately it comes with the territory. Working as a self-employed photographer means unpredictable cash flow, but unfortunately it comes with the territory. Working in agriculture means getting up before dawn and not being able to take a long holiday, but unfortunately it comes with the territory. Working in an office means having to listen to your colleagues small talk about what they got up to over the weekend and politely smile when they show you photos of their ugly newborn babies, but unfortunately it comes with the territory. It sucks, but get over it.

Her feelings are valid but it really is a simple matter of saying no and move on, and call out the people who overstep your boundaries rather than including people who are excited to see you and just want a photo. Maybe she's alluding to instances that aren't explicitly said in the video but I think it's really shitty she's putting harassment (and stalking) in the same tier as a fan calling out her name and asking for a photo when she's not in the mood

She is coming across as mildly insufferable I'm sorry. You don't need media training to know this

It simply comes off as someone who already had a huge ego, having it even more massively inflated with new found success and lowkey enjoying being able to complain about "fame, crazy fans, I'm just a normal b*ch(won't say person because I'm edgey), I'm just like you, stop harassing me, I don't owe you anything" club even though it's very minimal compared to literally anyone and she's been famous for 5 seconds

She's not wrong but I think she worded it in a way that feels like she's alienating the fans, I feel like she was heated from an encounter she had before filming the rant and she could've said the same thing but communicated in a more effective way

She should be telling this to her therapists, not her fans.

She's not born to be a pop star and that's something you either have or not.

Be careful what you wish for :(

It must be a really tough situation to go through. I personally think asking for photos, yelling a celeb's name or whatever to be unpolite and unnecessary. So she has a point.

BUT the way she put it comes across as entitled, taking in count she's getting HUGE benefits in terms of living her dream (and earning tons of money) at its peak. There are hundreds of thousands of artists that work their asses off and never get to experience or earn a glimpse of that. So that attitude, adding to a few other things I'm seeing, is sadly tuning me off... And I was becoming a fan. I'll still hear the music though, it's amazing.

She's more eloquent with 13 than most popgirls with 30 :deadbanana2:

She was always a grown woman inside a kid's body :deadbanana2: And I know that IQ is big :deadbanana2:

I feel like the last ∼25 years of pop have made gay men and fans feel like they own the popstars they stan, that's why people get so defensive and entitled when someone who doesn't subscribe to that mentality comes around

With that being said, I find it at least a bit silly that she was yearning and wishing for fame and success for so long, having made entire songs about it, just for her to act like this when it finally comes to her. I'll still be streaming that album tho

She's not wrong, but people won't change. It's been like this since… forever?

Clearly she can't handle fame.

She's absolutely right and she should say it
