She doesn't provide herself any breathing support and just SHOUTS the note. It's not cute, nor is it healthy. Plus, she shouldn't be opening her mouth horizontally, it should be vertical. Drop the jaw, not straining it with the long, harsh hold.

it's SHOCKING to me that she hasn't been approached about how terrible her technique is at least a few times? Like, or she just doesn't care about blowing out her voice? It's so confusing, maybe this is the only way she thinks she can sound "good" and "powerful." Girl, so confusing.

I definitely think live, without the restriction of the studio, she wants to hit those notes, but she isn't doing it in a technical way, and it's resulting in what we've been hearing the past several years. Or she's too into the song and just forgets she can't just sing without technique.
