GQ drags Katy: "Perry is a has-been, a relic of the 2010s. The anti-brat"

I think its sad that they have to pit Pop girls against each other. :ace: Katy actually supports Charli and is excited for her whenever anyone talks about her or her music. GQ can eat SHI*. :giraffe:

hmmm, they are right but I feel like it's becoming a dogpile at this point, like why is GQ getting involved?

"Well she is rich and has a hot husband" but she is also human and the hate is getting pretty loud so I am a bit nervous for her mental health... hope she can learn from this and reevaluate her relationship with Dr. Luke because he is not worth this... :doc:

I hope this album is her last hurrah. I've been an OKH for a while but even I don't wanna see her lashed like this, like she's the undeniable loser of 2024 atp :deadbanana4: and she quit Idol and seemed like she really wanted to have a big comeback moment nnn. She needs to just stop attempting commercial pop music after this, her time is done

Enough is enough.

I'm fed up with the relentless attacks from the media aimed at tearing down a woman. I was frustrated and disappointed when she worked with Dr. Luke, and I felt that the music didn't offer anything new. However, what's happening now has gone too far.

Kesha has had her moments of shading Katy in recent months, seemingly enjoying her downfall. But let's be real—we don't know if Katy was contractually obligated to work with Dr. Luke or what other pressures she might be facing behind the scenes. There could be NDAs or contracts that we're not privy to. We just don't know.

That said, I can't stand when men write articles labeling a woman as a "has-been," "cringe," or "over." This is the same kind of sexist media tactics that have brought down other women before, and it's nothing short of toxic "woke" bullying.

Men in the industry don't face the same level of scrutiny or repercussions for their actions, even when they repeat them over and over and over. So why should Katy Perry's career end on this note—because of a man? I didn't see the same level of outrage when Kim Petras was releasing her tacky albums either.

With all this in mind, I suddenly feel compelled to stream the hell out of 143, and I hope Katy can live her best life.

And for the rest of you, go see yourselves in the mirror and touch some grass, this selective woke-ism ain't cute.

At least 2008-2015 is longer than summer of 2014 + summer of 2024. Maybe she can try next decade in 2034!

Katy hasn't been authentic since One Of The Boys :sorry: she just cares about mainstream success and it shows.

Talking about being authentic, wasn't Taylor singing country music but was from Pennsylvania? :toofunny3:

And to think she could have flopped in peace, released her album to probably mixed reviews and succes and everyone would have been happy.

But no, she needed to work with Dr. L*ke. Non of this would be happening if she didn't willingly put his name on her work again. But she did.

I say, deserved lashings.

This is a bit hyperbolic for the sake of clicks. People gladly would've embraced Katy had the music been good, Luke not been in the picture and she actually acted with some sense (impossible).

Katy has never been clever like the modern pop girls are, but her performance of bombast and camp are informative for them and I think everyone the pundits are dickriding right now would attest to that.

So you have to be from a place considered Country to sing Country music? :bibliahh:

she needs to stop giving af about commerial success and experiment for her next album. NRO, Harleys and Hawaii were great and she could even dabble in her old sound from OOTB or do Christian Rock or w/e :gaycat5:

Funny how defending someone against sexism is suddenly "parasocial" just because they have money and a hot husband. Standing up against toxic media coverage isn't about who has what—it's about calling out toxic treatment, regardless of status. Guess some people are fine with double standards as long as it doesn't affect them.

She should've pivoted to adult contemporary. I would venture to guess there is a sizable audience for her there but the thought of being irrelevant scares her (who cares)

You're standing up for someone that doesn't need to be defended. This is a fraction of what she already got years ago. You look dumb.

This is actually a well written article

It's undeniable that she made the worst decitions possible.

Some of you still enjoy way too much when women are attacked.

Kind of too far. Should be lashed for choosing Dr. Luke to be on her album, but doesn't warrant the ageist attacks. Hope she realizes resurrecting Luke wasn't worth it, but have a feeling she'll never see it that way as she appears to think there's nothing wrong with him.

some celebs hinted at katy being insufferable and unlikable but damn... i guess she really pissed everyone in the industry off judging by the non stop attacks she's been facing since her comeback :rip:

I feel like this is just the beginning for Katy.

It's about to get so much worse I hope she is not on the internet :rip:
