I think some of you don't undertand that she wasn't in a good place mentally. It's not about the music or image.

She isn't trashing the Bangerz/Dead Petz eras. Just throwing a little snarkiness towards that part of her long career. But honestly she was only in her early 20s then vs in her 30s now so a lot of her feelings probably changed since then. She was a rebellious girl just entering adulthood and wanting to rid herself of the image she portrayed for so long. So happy to see her growth.

Love her!

Saying your best era was a malfunction is crazy...

Especially calling it a malfunction when you profited off of it by using the black community and black music to seem edgier...

No, she's correct.

Whatever she was doing between those years was such a disservice to her capabilities & talent - I'm not surprised she feels this way reflecting on it.

Everything from Plastic Hearts onwards has been a return to form.

I can't help but imagine what an incredible catalogue of classics she could've had, and the acclaim she would've garnered, had she continued to build on "The Climb" vibe, instead of succumbing to the lowest level thirst that was Bangerz, that overshadowed it all.

Bangerz definitely isn't her best album but it houses some of her biggest classics and the shock value of the era was kinda needed for that moment in her career and pop culture to transition her from Disney act to full-blown pop icon away from Hannah Montana, as much as it made her very polarising it also catapulted her to a different level of stardom. As talented as she is, if she had just continued with songs like The Climb she probably wouldn't have kept up the same level of relevancy at that time. Part of her massive career renaissance in the last few years has been people realising how vocally gifted she is and she's kinda really reaping the benefits now of the GP realising that later on in her career, it's given her a huge boost to her career in her 30's and extended her relevancy at a time when typically a pop artist's career starts slowing down.

i wouldn't accept an award from a company that i allegedly hate so much in the first place, but that's just me

hmm its almost like she went through an extremely unique and traumatic experience within her formative years and shouldn't continue to be judged for every word she spoke then?

or do you want to share stories of your teenage years with us instead...

She's legendary :allears: I just can't get enough of her. I know she was joking but she should never apologize for it, if not those years she could not become Miley that she's today. Love her for every year and every era

Thankfully we'll never be, but that step back made her make her actual best (Plastic Hearts) so we're thankful! :suburban:

why? are you one of those people who take everything so seriously and out of context that a word like that triggers some kind of emotions? i clearly didn't mean it to be as serious as you took it, but oh well..
