Kanye claims Atlantic Records is threatening to take down Vultures albums

Atlantic is allegedly demanding 40 percent of all revenue from both Vultures albums or else they will be pulled from streaming platforms.
Although Vultures 1 and Vultures 2 were both released independently through Kanye's YZY imprint, Ty Dolla $ign is signed to Atlantic as a solo artist, meaning they have rights to his work.

Kanye shared a series of updates to his Instagram Stories focused on an alleged text message he received from his manager, John Monopoly.

In it, the recipient of the message is being told that Monopoly just received a call from Julie Greenwald of Atlantic. This alleged call is claimed to have seen Greenwald telling Ye's manager that she was fired, with her replacement opting to not give Ye and company "a grace period" when it comes to compensation related to both Vultures 1 and Vultures 2. "She's saying that if we don't handle immediately Atlantic will issue takedowns for both albums," the text states.

The alleged text states that Greenwald was "fired" from her position at Atlantic Music Group, but that's not how the situation has been reported in the press.  It was announced earlier this week that Greenwald will exit the company and Elliot Grainge, the son of Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge, will take over as CEO of the Atlantic Music Group.

It's believable the ceo is basically taking over the label. They been making articles online about wanting to move forward with the label.

it's basically just business if you are not bringing in money. You are getting cut!

Good.

Surprised as a Taylor stan, you would be insupport of a corportation stealing from artists.

Another way the swifties are performative on their activism, whether that be their white feminism, or supporting artists vs the corporations.

What none of y'all seem to pay attention to is that Kanye had a "grace period" to make payments, as in, he agreed to pay Atlantic within an undisclosed timeframe.

We don't know if it was originally 40%, more, or less, just that he did in fact agree to pay Atlantic.

Considering they are using the term "grace period", it means this was a favor.  As in, there is no legal agreement to allow him to delay payments, and that in any other scenario, he would have been required to pay upfront.

TLDR Kanye isn't sharing the entire story as usual

So even though Kanye is independent, he hasn't paid Atlantic for featuring Ty Dolla Sign, and he also had a grace period in which he had time to pay but didn't? So now he wants to paint Atlantic as the villain? Is that about right?

He's been in the industry for decades, and his team did not expect Ty's label to ask for compensation? :bibliahh:

Yes. It's funny how society is so quick to paint certain women as "playing victim" when we have men like Kanye who CONSTANTLY play victim in every situation even when they're so plainly the villain in the scenario :deadbanana2: Kanye's lying tactic is lying by omission - he ALWAYS leaves out important details on purpose.
