Popular Post Mr_campbell Posted August 8 Popular Post Posted August 8 (edited) I just felt the need to share a recent experience I had, and I'm curious if you've ever had anything similar happen?? Two days before my dog died, I asked her if she was ready to go, I felt desperate for a clear answer. She literally then bit me on the face right after I asked. Because she's a big dog, I jumped back and injured my shoulder pretty bad since my arm was under her. I took that as a clear sign, even though I knew deep down she was beyond repair and very sick. A few days later, it was time she was put to sleep, which we did at home. I said to her "Please make sure you give me a sign you're okay." Two days later, I woke up and couldn't stop crying, as the shock of everything started to hit me. I felt so miserable I begged the universe or God for a sign of some sort. Not even 20 seconds later, a bird flew into my garage and started collecting my other dog's hair for a nest. This has NEVER happened before. The bird then walked right past me with full confidence and entered my house, went to the spot where my dog was put to sleep, and literally went to the bathroom RIGHT ON THE SPOT where she died, and then flew away. This was the strangest experience I've ever had. I asked specifically for a sign from my dog before she died, and then 20 seconds after I asked again, this happened. Have you ever had an experience like this? TL;DR: I asked for a sign from my dog who died if she is okay and 20 seconds later a bird came INTO my house and went to the bathroom right on the spot where the vet put her to sleep, and also collected dog hair for a nest. SinnerCity Posted August 8 Posted August 8 That's a beautiful story and yes, I've had experiences in the past that have reaffirmed my beliefs in the afterlife. Obviously you have still a special connection with your dog and she will always be with you one way or another. You did the right thing for her 2 6
May Posted August 8 Posted August 8 That bird made you stand there and watch as it broke into your home and defecated all over 8

You did the right thing for her I've always been so skeptical, but this was straight up insane for me. I can't explain it. I do find it comforting though. I had been struggling with the guilt but she was so ill, it was for the best to let her rest. 1

Mordecai Posted August 8 Posted August 8 My grandma passed away last year and my family went on holiday with her a few years back and she loved it; it was her last holiday iirc. There was this shirt that I bought specifically for that holiday and wore all the time during it, but I lost it sometime afterwards. I would look for it because I liked it a lot but was never able to find it. Fast forward to a couple of days after she passed, I'm hanging out the washing my parents had done and... that same shirt appears in the basket. To me, that was her giving me a sign that she was okay. I don't think I've seen that shirt again after that day too, which makes that sign so much stronger. Another experience that is pet related was when my cat died a few years ago she would appear in my dreams quite often for months after she passed. She had cancer so her death wasn't sudden but it wasn't until after she passed that I would dream of her. I don't remember exactly what those dreams were about but I like to think it's her way of letting me know that she was okay I'm not a religious person and sort of a semi-spiritual one but it's moments like these that make me question the universe 6 1

Like the timing of these experiences are just way to much to be coincidence. Thanks for sharing 1

So perhaps the birds are tasked with leaving the final messages from our dogs. You never know what's out there. 1 1
TouchinFree Posted August 8 Posted August 8 (edited) I believe that was a clear sign for you to comfort you and let's you know she is OK I'm not sure if this is similar. But when the youngest of my aunties passed away due to cancer, they wanted to bury her next to my grandmother. But unfortunately the space next to her was already bought by someone that they could not find or contact. My aunties and mum were desperate since my late auntie asked to be buried there before she died. Then when they had to bury her, they recieved a call from a man who asked if they had someone recently pass away. When they told him yes , he said an older woman and a younger tall woman would showed up in a repeated dream where the older woman asked for him to allow her daughter to "live" next to her. And the second dream my grandma told him her full name and my auntie's name and he could see their faces. And said the younger woman asked nicely to be BURIED with her mum as it was her wish Turns out he was the owner of the space/land in the graveyard as he'd bought it a while back to be nearest to his family across from my grandmother. In the end, he gave the land away for free for my auntie to be buried next to my grandmother as he couldnt believe what'd he experienced and neither could we Edited August 8 by TouchinFree 2
liam13 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 i think you're desperate enough to see anything as a sign tbh. just like when a guy has his arm on my shoulder, i will think he's into me or something 1 3 1 1

I'm not going to lie, these bits were wild to read, I was encapsulated. The biting your face bit literally made me jump. But OT: I'm sorry to hear about that sis, it's always hard when you lose a pet and I think that sounds way too strange to be a coincidence so I think you're right you know.
The Next Day Posted August 8 Posted August 8 (edited) I think when my great-grandmother died, the clocks in her house stopped. That's a classic. I haven't encountered signs after someone dies, but the timing when two of my childhood pets died was interesting. First was my dog who knew me since my birth, he got incredibly sick while I was on holiday. My family tried everything to help her til I got home. And they said she showed incredible strength although she was almost dead. They didn't want to torture her and I wasn't with her when she was put down, but they said it felt like she was waiting for me and my dad to come home. And then my childhood cat died very suddenly right before I started uni for my master's degree. I moved back to my hometown to study there and even lived with my mother and that cat for a while til I had an apartment. I'll never forget coming home from orientation day during a rainstorm. Before I went to bed my cat cuddled my mom in an unusual way, he had a very cold feet. A few hours later he must have had a heart attack or something and died instantly. I know it was a random chance, he was old after all. But for me it's as if he knew he can go now since I was back with my family now and he didn't have to care for the little kid anymore (you know how cats are). I always saw him in the corner of my eyes for a week afterwards, like a ghost following me. Edited August 8 by The Next Day 1

This is a really pretty story. I'm sorry your dog passed away. I was really devastated when my cat died. I went into a deep depression. God showed up for me in perfect timing too. That is real affirmation and assurance that God cares for you. Here are a couple places in the Bible about God's comfort. Psalm 34:18: "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Matthew 5:4: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." 1
jjmed59 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 why i tear up i cant imagine losing my girl. im so glad you have this experience to take solace and comfort in <3
Minto Posted August 8 Posted August 8 not the absolute killjoys in this thread who are pressed at the slightest sign of spirituality 1
Trent W Posted August 8 Posted August 8 That was beautiful to read And honestly don't read into some of these nihilistic replies I avoid people like this at all costs, they kill joy and the negativity they have is extremely toxic, especially when you're grieving Thanks for sharing your experience 🙏🏻
AvadaKedavra Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Yes multiple times but im glad they happen rarely cause i get scared easily
Elvenpath Posted August 8 Posted August 8 When my aunt died I wanted to see her one last time because I had promised her I would visit her at the hospital to read the Bible. The thing is I couldn't go because I was busy with work and then she died. I would ask her to visit me every night until I was told not to do that anymore. Then, a couple of days after the funeral, my boyfriend and I were having lunch in our flat and all of a sudden our dog stared at one corner of the flat and started barking as if she was really angry at someone or something (she had never done that before). I think she did come one last time. The thing with my aunt is that she used to go to some "brujas" when she was alive because if she didn't like you she would make sure something bad happen to you with the help of a bruja (witch).
