I honestly think that marriage is an obsolete entity/institution that is no longer needed in modern society 
 

I do understand the need of gay men in general to have the same recognition as heterosexual couples tho

 

But in general is just an obsolete concept

 

If you love someone just move in and live life together, you don't need a document for that recognition

As some have just said, it's an obsolete institution. Times are very different today. 

 

But LGBT+ people deserve to have the same rights as everyone else. So if they want to get married, they should be able to do so, as any straight person.

I could almost be sympathetic to the idea that marriage as an institution is obsolete, that we shouldn't seek integration into the straight world anyway etc but then I remember that there were gay men in the 90s who couldn't see their life partners who were dying of AIDS in the hospital cause they weren't "immediate family" and could legally never become immediate family
