folkloreking Posted August 9 Posted August 9 2 hours ago, Dear Reader said: this situation gets more bizarre each day F*cking hell. It cannot be overstated the kind of historical tragedy that was just NARROWLY avoided. Inspect every freaking inch of the stage and all involved personnel for her next shows.
mrpartyrocker Posted August 9 Posted August 9 i'm not the biggest fan of taylor and god knows I don't agree with a lot of things she does, but no one deserves this and I truly feel sorry for the swifties. a night that was supposed to be their most precious moment of 2024 turned into a nightmare. i do feel sorry for taylor as it goes to show that regardless of the money and power you have, some things are out of your control but thank god the government reacted quickly! i'm curious to see if the london shows will go ahead considering what's happening right now in the uk..
soulsearcher Posted August 10 Posted August 10 We all know that the shows in Vienna have been cancelled. I live in Germany and I watched a news report on that yesterday and the comment section was absolut hell. The "Who the hell is Taylor Swift" was one of the harmless comments. I read one that said : sad that nothing happened. No normal human being would listen to her squeaky voice for more than 10 minutes. Another comment said: best news of all summer. So that this hell stops(the Taylormania). I'm so disgusted. You don't have to like her but man, humanity is really stupid sometimes. It's not just under the Vienna post. When she was in Gelsenkirchenthe comments were even funnier. From people calling her mediocre, no where near artists of the 80s (I've never heard of this lady or a song and she is supposed to be this mega star?), My aunt says this as well(well yeah, if you only listen to greek folk/pop music, I'm not wondering) saying that she has been irrelevant here before 2022(which is kinda true??) and she has no Bohemian Rhapsody or Hey Jude so nobody will remember her and she is completely unimportant to the music industry. Needed to get this off my chest, man.

Its a digital release on Taylor website so they are in full control of it. It's a bit inappropriate in my opinion and hurts a little I get you but statements are not always easy. e.g. of a great statement: NOW I'm not equating them, nor calling Taylor a leader of a nation, but statements need to be well thought out of. She's a singer responsible for these tours. See below. On 8/9/2024 at 4:34 AM, Axolotl said: A big celebrity acknowledging being affected by terrorist threats would embolden more of them. I know safety comes first and I am extremely happy that nothing happened, however, I can't really describe the disappointment I feel. I was looking forward to this moment for more than a year… and now, it's suddenly gone. These airlines should give refunds. There literally was a terror attack spoiled. These corporations I swear. 2
MP3 Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Why didn't they just rescheduled the shows after the London ones? End of August or early September?

So creepy Exactly, and I saw a tweet like a month ago of someone still doing it and it's just WEIRD. I'm thankful that this didn't happen at Taylor's concert because seeing what Ariana went through after that, was NOT fun and Taylor def shouldn't have to go through that either.

And the stadium is used after London by Coldplay and likely has other events booked after that. It's really unlikely that its logistical possible to rescheldule. And lastly, the stadium used a contactor that hired on of the attempted terrorists. even if it was possible to rescheldule a show there ,she wouldn't do commit to reschelduling until the staidum provided that all the remaining contractors and staff were actually properly vetted. 1
Saintlor Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) I've posted this before, but I was disgusted when I went to see Halsey in manchester just a couple of years after the Ariana Grande bombing at the exact same venue it happened. My bag wasn't even checked and neither was my friend's. I was so disgusted that I got in so easily and nobody searched me. It worried me for what if a criminal had gotten in just as easy. Even when my bags have been searched at concerts, most of the time the security just superficially looks at the top layer of what's inside my bag and doesn't look at whats underneath stuff Edited August 11 by Saintlor 1
Listentoyourheart Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Just flew back from Vienna. What was supposed to be the best day of the year turned into... nothing. I am still so crushed 3 days later, I cannot believe that I had been waiting a year for this, seeing my absolute fave artist live that I have been stanning for 10 year, and it got taken away 20 hours before it was going to happen (just as we landed!). I am grateful a tragedy was prevented, but like.. what are the odds that sth like this would happen right where we were going to go? We could have gone to any other of the cities and we would've already had the time of our lives. Now it's just pain. I am coping by deluding myself that the dates will get rescheduled or sth, but let's see... Like sure, when she tours again, I will go, but nothing will be as epic as the Eras Tour. 5
Dragonfly Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Just got back home. I keep thinking about the children that we met these last couple of days and traded bracelets with; or sometimes we just gave them away. To think there would've been so many families there with us on thursday night... It's weird feeling disappointed yet so grateful 3
Alldeezy Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I mean probably for the best. we don't want another Manchester thing like wtf is wrong with these people

Time on boat might literally only be 2-3 weeks but her stage also needs to be packaged for shipping and then reassembled and testing. All of her breaks between legs have been about two months despite how expensive these breaks are due to employee costs. It shows that's simply how long it takes.

Disassembly of stages take usually 2 days max, and getting to a port in EU is no longer than 2 days either (significantly less if we're considering the stage will be in London). Transatlantic routes are between 7 and 14 days. The two month break you're mentioning is lengthy not because of the time it takes to ship back a stage - but because the crew will take its' well-deserved rest after being constantly on the road for almost an entirety of 4 months. There's even an example to show that it doesn't take that much time: the last show in Tokyo, Japan was in Feb 10. Six days later, on February 16th, the Australian leg opened in Melbourne - that's 5 315 nautical miles away. The distance between London and Miami (the next date after London) is only 4 896 nautical miles.

beatluk1 Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I have been on ATRL many years just reading all the comments but without commenting by myself or replying. I need to share my feelings now. Just came back from Vienna. Firstly, I am glad that everyone is safe but I still feel devasted about the cancellation. We were waiting 13 months to that day, all acommodation and train tickets paid and suddenly you discovered that all of that was for nothing. I went to the stadium and it was really sad to see all the heartbroken messages written by the chalk on the ground. I am still feeling like empty inside. All the fans had their shows and probably best day of their lives but we don't. To be honest time spend in Vienna was also a disappointment. Of course, all the hotels boosted up their prices for the concerts by X% and they didnt want accept the refund so we have to travel there. All the free gifts were immidiately sold out so we were waiting in lines for nothing (The line for burger was like for 3 hours). It was really nice that all the Swifties tried to cheer up the mood but like there were so many of the fans on the main square (thousands), so it was basically the same amount of people but instead of the stadium they were in the city center and you were there even without any security check, so was the cancellation really needed? Time will heal the this. I secretly hope that on the next tour Taylor will give us a some pre-sales code and we will experience her presence and show too. Glad that no one was hurt, wanted to just share maybe a different view and how was it for some of us. 1
