this is why I've developed a fear and hatred for going to concerts. especially stadium shows.

I have seen somewhere that it was actually US authorities that found out about the attack and alarmed the austrian government? Is this true?

…yes… no wonder they cancelled, I wouldn't believe the word they say that everything is ok if other countries had to tell them about an attack…

What's the source for that?

I attended the three dates in Poland last week and not for a moment did I think of feeling unsafe, it didn't even register to think something might happen, it's crazy how much this whole situation put some things into perspective. I've never felt safer or happier than at eras, it sucks that people had to have this taken away from them. I literally know someone who flew all the way from the Middle East for this

Many articles. During the press conference they did not answer all the questions regarding the cooperation between the countries and did not want to say, when they got the info. I think they don't want to look unprofessional than they are already and admit than they had no info and other countries know better what's happening in Austria…

Can you link an article?

But wouldn't suprise me tbh. Europe has relied on the US to play their watchdog for way too long. Makes me wonder what our own authorities even do.

Safety and first. We'll never forget about Manchester.

I'm glad they just decided to call it off. Sometimes when I go to these venues the security just seems lacking past the ticket gate. Threats should always be taken very seriously :mazen:

this is so devastating not only as a swiftie but as a music lover and concert goer in general. everyone here should be upset by this as music fans. music and concerts are supposed to be our safe place and these sick people make it scary to even attend a big event like this anymore

The plan was to stab as many "non-believers" as possible and then blow themselves up to kill even more?

I'd say it's time to register and monitor religious people and institutions even more. This is sick.

Investigators have revealed:

  • 'Teen planned to kill himself and a large crowd'
  • Second suspect, 17, was already at the stadium
  • Radicalised Islamist had recorded a video claiming responsibility
  • Attack was due to take place today
  • Teen had detonators and fake police vehicle blue siren and 'thinks it is right to kill non-believers'
  • 'ISIS is back... key players are receiving instructions from abroad'
  • 19-year-old suspect quit his job and announced 'big plans' two weeks ago

The "I" in ISIS stands for Islamic :biblio:

This is awful. No one should feel unsafe for simply being at a concert to see one of their favorite artists. It's definitely good that this was prevented from happening but just that this was a possibility is frightening.

Not Swifties mass gather on the street of Vienna to sing Taylor's songs.....

Glad that they are having some fun after the horrible news.
