Badgalbriel Posted August 8 Posted August 8 What happened to Europe that it suddenly became this dangerous to live there?
holyground13 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 It goes without saying but this is so so sad to read about and it's beyond evil. 2

Doogle Posted August 8 Posted August 8 ******* hell It didn't even happen and I feel like crying thinking about a potential situation with the car or any of that plan happening. Shocking
itshyolee Posted August 8 Posted August 8 This is ******* insane. Thank goodness the shows were cancelled. We don't need this **** to happen again.

Liafen Posted August 8 Posted August 8 7 hours ago, 1989 said: The concert was immediately cancelled because this came directly from the government; Taylor and her team had zero say in this. This is likely the reason she and her team have not made their own official statement on their social media accounts as well; I imagine they are having to go through the proper channels and have everything okayed before they say anything, as this is now a government matter. The cancellation has nothing to do with Taylor or her future touring plans. If you look at Taylor's track record, she has only cancelled one show—due to a literal military coup, a matter that was also out of her hands. Everything she and her team have had even some control over has always been postponed and then fulfilled at a (typically nearer) later date. But in regard to today's events, once the government discovered and then thankfully foiled a plan for a terrorist attack, there's no way they'd allow her to continue on with the show anytime soon. "Taylor and her team had zero say in this" — yeah, no. Glad they cancelled but it was their call, government officials confirmed this.
Riot Posted August 8 Posted August 8 With multiple wars going on in the Middle East, ISIS chose a Taylor Swift concert? What's even their logic? 1

I think watching the disaster of the Olympics in France, all the pickpockets, all the people that were robbed gave me the impression that Europe is rotting recently. 2

Talking out of my *** but a likely method is that they tracked IPs after their Internet Service Provider signaled to government agencies that they're researching / posting some highly concerning stuff. 1

Princess Aurora Posted August 8 Posted August 8 WTF? Thank Goodness it was canceled. This could have been the next Manchester. I'm surprised since Austria has very strong security laws
holyground13 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 It all is so sad and so scary but thank God they avoided this attack. Well done to the Austrian police, they're heroes. 1

FOCK Posted August 8 Posted August 8 (edited) 1. I'm thankful that this was caught before disaster. Absolutely terrifying. 2. I find it exceedingly difficult to fathom that a 19 year old could organise such a plot with this level of sophistication, against one of the biggest personas in the world right now, alone, including the sourcing of items, recruiting, somehow getting them all to work the same night, at the same venue etc. 3. Call me tinfoil, but I don't believe the number of recent terror plots linked to ISIS that have been thwarted, are coincidental - & I fear that there will be more that pop up soon. There seems to be a concerted effort to produce another catastrophe in the western world, for what I imagine will be used as a vehicle of removing sympathy from a certain cause, by linking it to religion.
