This is awful and terrifying. I feel incredibly sorry for Taylor and her fans, but thank goodness they uncovered the plot before anything could happen. It must be horrible for parents of her younger fans who now have to explain why the concert they've been excited for for has been cancelled.

I wanted to say exactly that. In events such as this one... it doesn't matter what you think about anyone, it matters that you feel glad that the Austrian authorities could prevent anything from happening. And it matters that you say that you are genuinely sorry that it happened because you understand that seeing your favourite artist in concert is an amazing thing and it is important that you acknowledge that a lot of people are sad now.

 

It is important to acknowledge that safety is the most important thing. The alternative would have been one of the darkest times in our collective memory. 

 

in short: Think of Taylor whatever you want if people plan a terrorist attack, you stand with Taylor and her fans against that and with empathy.

I'm devastated. I was travelling from Norway to attend to night two and had been looking forward to it for one year. Obviously, I fully understand why they had to cancel it and I'm relieved and thankful that they became aware of the issue before anyone got hurt. Risking the lives of thousands of people is not worth it for a concert, but I'm still extremely sad about it and will now spend some very depressing and gloomy days in Vienna…….

I find it interesting that the concert was cancelled, and not postponed to be rescheduled. Taylor must really be intent on taking a break when this tour wraps - good for her.

This is extremely sad on a lot of fronts. The fans that were going to travel (or even already did), for the money spent on tickets, for our safety never being an acquired thing and even for Taylor herself. It's for the best that it got cancelled though, safety should always come first. 

It's ATRL, ofc people here are hypocrites, including the biased mods. This is why I don't visit this site that often anymore.

 

OT: This is so sad for the fans and for Vienna. I hope Taylor will be able to meet the fans at another time

This is reasonable and disheartening at the same time. Obviously Taylor isn't at fault in any way and she wouldn't be even if she canceled them by her own calling. That being said, I'm literally flabbergasted by the stupidity of so many oblivious fans on Twitter using this as a defensive reason for Taylor to not speak out on critical political matters… There is an air vent in some of those heads.

The issue is that her stage requires two months to be shipped between continents. So she would have to keep everyone employed for another two months.  even without shows, her crew costs millions per week to just keep employed. She would have to another European leg to make it profitable and it would be in the middle of football season so venues would be limited. Her dancers/crew likely have other gigs booked out already. 

 

Even if she wanted to do that, it would require several days if not weeks to negotiate.  The cancellation not postponement came from the venue because there is basically no feasible way for  postpone without having to scheldule a whole other leg.

Seriously if your first thought upon hearing this news is to get your drags in about Taylor/her fans please log off... yes they can be annoying and I like a good swiffer drag but like read the ******* room  Taylor's only cancelled once before and that was a literal military coup so you know this was seriously life-threatening
