Defamation Of Character would sound pretty good as a follow up to Invasion Of Privacy ngl

Yeah, they go hand in hand as titles, not mad at it! Reminds me of Iggy's "in my defense" a little.

As the main character of ATRL,

I find both of those names to be incredibly underwhelming. But knowing Cardi the album will not be released for another few years, if ever. I do see how Defamation of Character would work if she stuck to the litigious themes present in the "Press" music video but seeing as that song is about half a decade old and unlikely to find its way onto a sophomore album from Cardi, I don't quite see the correlation anymore.

Main character of ATRL? :suburban:

well we can include the infidelity songs songs since a lot of lies revolve around that:giraffe:

but as a lot of people said this title would've been a perfect to follow up press, really address the drugging men mess:gaycat2:

Press was 5 years ago. An album with that title would be iconic 5 years ago

But it's 2024 now

The narrative has shifted. Ppl want more than just OP songs from Cardi.

I like the idea of her rapping about Offset's infidelity though. She should release a breakup album

Not Defamation of Character when she's her own biggest enemy :ahh:

Defamation would've been a decent title years ago, today she's a bit unqualified to live up to her character being worth defaming. Intrusive Thoughts however would make a lot a more sense.

She should call the album Love n' Hiphop as an homage to her roots. Maybe she can invite Joseline and Crisean Rock to do some spoken word Interludes? :gaycat4:

Defamation of Character works great as a follow up title to invasion of privacy, however it rings a bit hollow. Especially cuz defamation already implies that its about someone's character. So it feels redundant and hollow.

She can try other things along similar lines.

Like: Sladerer's Symphony

Or

Tales of Treachery (which can play both into defamation/press themes and the cheating she's suffered, among other more political themes)

I think (through other court cases) she said, that she's still in litigation against her own label because she wants to challenge certain clauses of her contract and that she basically has a gag order about what the litigation against her label is actually about.

Oh I never heard about this

I'm curious why it's taken over half a decade for her next album. Must have been a label issue or something, especially considering how massive her debut era was

How would it be a label issue? Please Me was #3, WAP and Up both went #1 and were massive. Even Enough (Miami) was a Top 10. Then we have Money, Press, Hot ****, and Bongos — those charted in the Top 20.

Atlantic had more than enough incentive to put an album out, especially between 2020 and 2021. Cardi has already spoken about being anxious when it comes to dropping music because of the expectations from her for it to perform well.

Someone on twitter suggested back in 2020/21 Parental Advisory. I like that one and Defamation of Character

Defamation of Character is more of a standout in comparison to Intrusive Thoughts when I think about a Cardi album title.

Defamation Of Character would be a perfect follow-up to Invasion Of Privacy. In the first album the world is involving themselves in Cardi's personal life and on Defamation of Character she could be speaking on how after they invaded her privacy, they use it against her to try take her down. Pretty smart and consistent if you ask me.

You make a valid point. DOC might just work. Intrusive thoughts is a good title but too complicated for the gp.

a good track title though

Defamation of Character is cool, but there's a part of me that doesn't like how it's angled in the negativity (ish people say about her etc).

It's actually one of the parts of Cardi that can get jarring (the constant attention she gives her haters/critics).

Also, if it's just coming to be a bunch of random songs/bops etc (which there'd be nothing wrong with), I almost wouldn't want a title that striking if she's not leaning into the theme heavy on some concept album type ish.

Hell, at this point, more than anything I don't even care what it's called. Just release it!!
