Gaga delivered yet another ACCLAIMED performance at a world stage for the umpteenth time. Meanwhile Beyoncé delivered her fans yet another reminder that you are the performances, the visuals, the content baby. Enjoy! Edited August 12 by Infernal Paradise 1

Cbreezy Posted August 12 Posted August 12 It was terrible. Embarrassingly so. And as much as I initially wanted Bey involved (and as much as it looked like she was involved), I'm glad she didn't. What I will never get is the rationale behind how and who they get to put this ish together. All stanism aside, who (anyone anywhere) wanted to see any of…that?! I can't really speak for the rock acts and the guests playing with them in the stadium, beyond the fact that I didn't care for it and neither did most of Twitter. But that LA segment was objectively terrible and yet was produced by the producer of the Grammys! I've seen better local award shows, both in Europe and US with way better production value. Way better concept, way better everything. Just pondering the money and collective effort that went into it and…that is what they came up with? It felt like a cheap episode of Baywatch or California Dreams. Billie (who I don't care for) makes sense pop culturally, but is a prime example of how the biggest acts don't necessarily translate to big performances. Red Hot Chilli Peppers could have just played as their song did during the Tom Cruise segment (which looked cheap af btw). Snoop is always a vibe and the California tie-in is natural fit, but it's not event-viewing nor was the Dre surprise. We've pretty much seen the same thing with more production value at the Super Bowl. My gut is telling me maybe this was meant to be relatively lo-fi to not overshadow the host city and also for LA to not overplay their cards now when they'll have to go all out four years from now. I also can't shake my feeling that the Bey thing **may** have been on the cards (hence the rumors), but she's pretty unwavering in the scale of her performance, the rightful need for the segment to be centralised on her, and probably not wanting to share the slot. I saw the runner Michael Johnson (who featured) mention that it all came together pretty recently and was rushed. Maybe it was all a contingency after she pulled out? Who knows, I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised if tea to this effect comes out via a TMZ or Page Six soon. Whatever the case, I'll say I'm glad Bey didn't tie her name to this. It was a mess.
